In a series hybrid, the engine doesn’t directly drive the wheels; it only acts as a generator. This approach is very fuel-efficient, as it allows the car to run at low speeds using only the electric motor. Parallel hybrids, on the other hand, allow both the engine and motor to drive the wheels simultaneously, which has the advantage of providing more power at higher speeds.
