Through Forrest Gump’s life of overcoming obstacles, success in war, sports, and business, the movie Forrest Gump shows how doing your best in a given situation can pay off.

The movie Forrest Gump opens with a monologue from a man. This man is the main character of the movie, and his name is Forrest Gump. He seems like an ordinary man living in a small town, and as he reminisces about his life, we realize what an extraordinary life he has led. Forrest Gump seems so ordinary, but the things he’s experienced are extraordinary, and he lives his life with great simplicity. His monologues are sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, and often contain insights into life. As listeners, we become immersed in Gump’s words and witness how the small events he recounts gradually become major turning points in his life.

Forrest Gump is shown as a child with a leg disability. The physical challenges he faced from an early age were not only related to his body, but also to the way he was viewed by the people around him. He was constantly teased and bullied by other children, which made him realize early on that he was different from everyone else. But Forrest doesn’t let it get him down; instead, it fuels his will to overcome it. Forrest’s mother teaches him an important lesson: “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” This quote provides an important clue to how Forrest views the world and lives throughout the movie. His mother constantly encourages him, reminding him that he is no different than any other child. Thanks to her teachings, Forrest doesn’t see himself as different from people without disabilities and gains the confidence that he can accomplish anything.

Forrest Gump starts running with a brace on his leg, and this scene is very iconic in the movie. Despite the brace, Forrest continues to run, trying his best to get away from the other kids bullying him, and in the process, his running skills improve. At first, it’s simply to escape the bullies, but over time, Forrest finds joy in running. This is an important step in his future, as he later joins the soccer team based on his running skills.
Over time, Forrest’s running skills become better than everyone else’s, and his running finally catches the eye of a scout from a professional football team. This is where Forrest’s life takes another turn. He joins a professional soccer team, but Forrest didn’t have any dreams of playing soccer; he simply enjoyed running. However, his excellent running ability is one of the essential skills for a football player, and it makes him an important figure on the team. Forrest goes on to have a very successful career in soccer and starts to get noticed by many people.
But Forrest’s story doesn’t end there. He soon faces a new challenge: the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War is a huge historical event, and Forrest’s life takes on another dimension. He joins the army and performs his duties to the best of his ability, just as he would on the battlefield. The war was a very brutal environment, but Forrest never lost his integrity. He always gave his best to the task at hand and was sincere with his colleagues. His sincerity earned him the trust of not only his colleagues but also his superiors.

When Forrest’s unit is ambushed by the enemy, he uses his excellent running skills to rescue his wounded comrades. This brings him great honor, and he is decorated by his country and becomes a celebrity. But it wasn’t the honors or awards that mattered to Forrest; he simply did what he could. His selfless actions made him more than just a hero. His courage and integrity touched many people, and he became a beloved figure in his country.
Forrest also met his dear friend Bubba during the war. Bubba offered Forrest a shrimp business, which would later prove to be an important step in Forrest’s success as an entrepreneur. After the war, Forrest takes Bubba up on his offer and starts his own shrimp business, which gives him another opportunity for success. Forrest’s achievements in business were remarkable, and they were due to his integrity and persistence. He always did the best he could with the circumstances he was given, and this led him to success.
When we look back at Forrest Gump’s life, we see that he never acted with grandiose goals: he took up running simply to escape bullies, and he joined the military because of the times. But Forrest always made the best of what he was given. Through his hard work and integrity, he unknowingly achieved great success, which enriched his life. We can learn an important lesson from Forrest’s life. Doing your best in any given situation is an important key to success.
This movie is not just a story of one man’s success; it’s a story of how Forrest lived his life and how he saw the world through his values. He was always kind to others and never lost his positive attitude in any situation. His attitude towards life touched many people, and I learned a lot from watching this movie. Forrest Gump was an important turning point in my short life, and since then I have taken life more seriously. Now, whenever I feel lazy, I rewatch the movie, and Gump’s character inspires me anew. I encourage readers of this article to watch Forrest Gump to find new inspiration when they feel like they’re slacking off.
