Is the success of mobile gaming due to the touch controls of smartphones or the portability of playing anytime, anywhere?

I

The popularity of mobile gaming can be explained by the combination of portability and intuitive touch controls, making it easy to play games anytime, anywhere, in line with modern lifestyles.

It’s become a common sight to see people of all ages playing games on their phones wherever they go. The popularity of mobile gaming began to rise when smartphones began to appear. It’s gotten to the point where anyone with a smartphone has played a mobile game. As a result, the mobile gaming market has actually been growing constantly. As smartphones have become increasingly popular, mobile gaming has become more than just a leisure activity, but an integral part of everyday life. This has led to people playing games on the go or in their spare time, which has contributed to the explosive growth of the mobile gaming market.
In fact, mobile gaming is becoming more popular than PC online gaming, and there are several reasons for this popularity. First, they’re more portable. PC gaming is limited in the places you can play due to the portable nature of computers. However, you can always take your cell phone with you, so you can play games anywhere. In addition, the time- and place-independent nature of mobile gaming has made it a perfect fit for today’s busy lifestyles. The fact that mobile games can be enjoyed even during short periods of time, such as commuting or waiting in line, is one of the reasons why they have become so popular with the masses. In addition, the development of data communications has made it possible to use the Internet on mobile phones even when outside. Mobile games have gone from being solitary games to games that can be played like online games outside through communication networks.
Second, from a developer’s perspective, mobile games are easier to create. PC game development technology, such as physics engines and graphics, has continued to improve over time, and consumers who play games have become more sophisticated. This makes it harder for late-comers to keep up, and the cost of developing the technology to keep up with the gap in technology becomes more expensive. Mobile games, on the other hand, are easier to develop because the barriers to entry are relatively low compared to PC games. This has opened up new opportunities, especially for independent developers. With a market where creative ideas and limited resources are enough to succeed, a wide variety of genres and styles of games have emerged. The relatively low cost of development and the high return on investment has led to increased investment in mobile games.
Third, accessibility also favors mobile games. It’s easier to install a game application on your phone than it is to install a game on your computer, and with the advent of social gaming, a form of interaction with friends, it’s easier to get information about games from your friends. The popularity of social gaming is beneficial because it expands the gaming experience beyond solitary enjoyment to include interaction and competition with friends. The tension and enjoyment that comes from collaborating or competing with friends in-game is an important factor that keeps users coming back for more.
These are some of the commonly accepted reasons for the success of mobile games. However, these perspectives are mostly from the marketability perspective of mobile games. Here, we will look at the characteristics of mobile games that differ from these perspectives. First, we’ll look at how mobile games, especially smartphones, are controlled.
Before PC games, video games relied on a single controller for control. A few buttons were all you needed to control the game. Of course, this was enough to control the game, but it was limited by the fact that you could only move what the game screen showed you. Then, as personal computers (PCs) became more popular, PC games began to gain popularity, which are controlled by a mouse and keyboard. This has made it possible to move the screen in a more personalized way, and the mouse has played a big role in intuitively moving and controlling the screen. Nevertheless, people who play games feel uncomfortable. People want to move the game themselves, but they still feel that it is not enough. In the meantime, devices based on touch recognition, such as smartphones, have emerged. Now you can actually touch the screen to control the game. Smartphones go one step further than traditional controls, offering intuitive and immediate responses. With the ability to move characters with a single finger or execute complex commands with simple hand gestures, users can enjoy a more intuitive and immersive gaming experience. This new way of interacting with games is giving way to more hands-on control. Mobile games have become popular because they fulfill the desire to be in control of the game.
The Nintendo DS first appeared in Japan in 2004 and became a worldwide phenomenon. Many people attribute the success of the Nintendo DS to its aggressive marketing, but one of the most important factors was its touch controls, which were rare at the time. At the time, few devices supported touch, so almost all games were controlled using only a set of buttons. However, the Nintendo DS introduced touch control, which was a novelty at the time, allowing users to play games by directly touching the screen. This helped consumers recognize that it was different from previous game consoles. Users were able to make more intuitive controls, such as moving characters by simply touching the game screen, which was very appealing. The success of the Nintendo DS had a major impact on the way other games and smartphones were controlled. As touch controls became more than just a novelty, they became the default way to play games, setting a new standard for the entire gaming industry. As touch recognition technology has since evolved, smartphones and mobile games have embraced and improved upon these advanced touch-based controls, giving players more control over how they move through the game, and consumers have become more interested in mobile gaming as a result.
There’s a human desire for more freedom. People also want to be able to be who they want to be. These basic human needs can be easily fulfilled through games. The feeling of being in control, even if it’s only in a virtual world, provides a satisfaction that’s hard to get in real life. A successful game is one that stimulates these inner desires and allows them to be fulfilled. I think mobile games are successful because they are able to stimulate the instinct of freedom through touch.
