This document is a collection of farewell speeches that can be used at a variety of club, alumni, and alumni association exit ceremonies. We’ve provided examples of speeches for different situations to help outgoing presidents prepare their farewell remarks.
Student senate president outgoing ceremony
Hello, my name is ○○○ and I am the outgoing student delegate president of the ○○ department. It seems like only yesterday that I first walked through the front doors of our university, ○○, as a freshman with many dreams and aspirations in ○○, and now two years have passed and I am preparing to graduate. I realize how quickly time flies.
This year, as I took on the roles of president of the ○○○ department and chairman of the delegation, I was worried about whether I would be able to do a good job, but through various events, I was able to find my feet. The Spring Games and other events that followed were successful because of the hard work of so many people involved in the events, and without your active participation, the events would not have been as successful. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my class presidents and all of my professors for their encouragement. Their advice and teaching have helped me to do many things right in this position.
What are you learning and what are you experiencing from your college life? For me, my past college life has been a precious time that I will never experience again, and an opportunity to build relationships with good people. From the first time I stepped onto the college campus to this moment, I have gone through countless trials and errors, and in the process, I have grown into a more mature human being. Looking back now, I wish I could have acted more wisely at the time, but I think I can look back on my past college life with a smile and no regrets because I tried my best.
Now, a wider society awaits me and my fellow graduates. Let’s resolve to become ○○ people who strive to make an impact everywhere in society based on what we have learned at university. I, too, promise to take my experience here to heart and become a great person in society. Finally, I wish you the best of luck and blessings in your future, and I wish the president and professors good health and peace. Thank you.
Alumni President farewell ceremony
Thank you, dear friends, for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend the reunion. The time I was able to spend with you has been a great happiness for me. I would also like to thank my alumni friends who could not be here today because they were caught up in their daily lives. Every moment I have shared with all of you remains a precious memory for me.
I have experienced so many moments of gratitude during my presidency. The total trust and support you have given me will remain a beautiful memory in my heart that will not be forgotten for a long time. I was able to move forward without fear because I could count on your encouragement and support no matter what decisions I made. Through this process, I have come to realize how powerful the alumni community can be, and I deeply felt that this power comes from your warm hearts.
Looking back, my past two years as alumni president have been frustrating at times, and there have been times when I have struggled with difficult situations. There were also moments when I felt like complaining, but looking back now, I can honestly confess that even that was ultimately a happy rant. In short, I have been a very happy person indeed, and I dare say that all of this happiness was possible because of you, my friends, who are here with me today.
Your generosity, understanding, and patience have made it possible for me to stand here today, and your warm love and support have been a great source of strength for me. I will cherish your friendship for a lifetime, and I will always love you with all my heart.
As I conclude my two-year term as president today, I am human, and it hasn’t been all joy. There have been times when I have regretted some things, thinking, “Oh, I wish I hadn’t done that at that time.” But even those regrets have made me grow, and they have driven me forward.
My term as president has come to an end, but our ○○ Elementary School ○○ Alumni Association must continue forever, especially because I believe that you, our alumni, have the ability and talent to make it one of the best alumni associations in the country. I will continue to do my best to work with you for the growth and development of our alumni association.
To my fellow alumni, thank you so much. If I have failed to live up to your expectations, I sincerely apologize, and I know that wherever you are, you will always be full of dreams and love. Keep in mind that God is always on the side of those who strive, and give your best effort. With that, we bid you a final farewell, wishing you all the best of health and happiness at home. I love you all.
Outgoing Alumni President’s Message
Honored alumni of ○○ Elementary School. Greetings from Mr. ○○○, the ○th Alumni President. I hope you all had a good holiday season. Especially in the Tokyo area, there was a lot of damage due to the heavy rainfall in a short period of time, and I am concerned about the safety of all our alumni, but I hope you are all fine.
Last month, our alma mater celebrated its 100th anniversary, an important and exciting event that only happens once in our lifetime. Despite the scorching heat, many alumni and residents worked together to make the centennial celebration loud and proud. We were greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm and generous support of our alumni as we prepared for this momentous event. Your love and dedication were once again evident during the preparation process, and it was thanks to you that the event was a success. This was a precious time for our school and community to come together, enjoy each other’s company, and strengthen our bonds.
The soccer and futsal finals that took place at the same time also went off without a hitch and without any injuries. The eve ceremony that followed was arguably the highlight of the event, with a huge crowd and a great atmosphere with the residents. We were so happy to see so many guests from all walks of life, including seniors, juniors, and faculty and staff of our alma mater, who came together to celebrate the event.
Dear alumni, how many schools in Japan have a 100-year history? How many schools can celebrate their 100th anniversary in such a grand and meaningful way? This event confirmed to me once again how great our alumni are, and it also made me feel deeply how strong our community is. It also gave me confidence in what we can accomplish together, and I couldn’t be prouder of my alma mater and its alumni. Our alma mater is more than just an educational institution, it’s a place that has laid important foundations in all of our lives, and it’s our responsibility to continue this proud tradition.
Proud alumni, I have served as the president of my alma mater since ○○, a position that is well beyond my abilities, but I have done my best to not be a detriment to the traditions and honor of my alma mater. As I promised when I first assumed the presidency ○ years ago, I have focused my work during my term on revitalizing the Alumni Association and completing the first 100 years of our school’s history. I have faced many difficult and challenging tasks, but I have been greatly encouraged by the guidance and support of my predecessors and successors. Your unwavering love and affection for our alma mater and the Alumni Association have been the greatest driving force behind what we have become today. Now we must close out the first 100 years of our history and look forward to the next 100 years.
I pledge to entrust that enormous responsibility to our next president and give him my full support. As a new century begins, our alma mater must prepare to reach for even greater heights. It will take all of us working together to ensure that future alumni can continue this proud tradition. I sincerely wish you and the next president a great start to the next 100 years. Thank you so much, it was because of you that I was able to complete my term, and because of you, my entire term was rewarding and happy, I love you.
Retirement Message from the President of the Girls’ High School Alumni Association
Dear Alumni, The sky, which has been down for a long time because of heavy clouds holding lots of water, has lifted the clouds and is now up high. The body, which was filled with cold water and ice in the hot summer, pushing away food, is now starting to feel hungry. In this natural change of seasons, we once again adjust the rhythm of our lives and prepare for new beginnings.
The high, blue skies now remind me that fall is here, and the season of fruitfulness always makes me feel full. Every time we walk under a blue sky, a calm breeze blows, and we naturally reflect on the past. It’s not just the grain that’s ripe, but also the moments in our lives. It’s a time to reflect on the past and reorient our future within it.
It is during this good season that I am stepping down as Alumni President and returning to my seat as an alumni member. We call the school we graduated from our alma mater. Alma mater is a mother’s school, and it’s a mother’s birthplace. We have teachers who taught us, classmates with whom we cried, laughed, and played, and a campus that embraced us. If I were to summarize all of these in one phrase, I would say that it is a space like a hometown where our precious dreams and memories are alive and well.
When I took on the role of the sixth general alumni president of ○○ Girls’ High School, I was very worried at first, wondering how I would be able to handle the job given my lack of experience. However, that was just one of the expectations. Being an alumni president is not some kind of pie-in-the-sky position where you are expected to handle all the affairs of the alumni association on your own. I realized that the alumni president is just a person who works behind the scenes to help the alumni association develop, with the will of many alumni, and who works silently behind the scenes.
In the process, I realized what true leadership is. The wisdom I’ve gained from organizing various activities and gathering alumni opinions has been a great gift to me, and the support and encouragement I’ve received from my peers and alumni has been a great source of strength.
I am now succeeded by our 7th Alumni President, Ms. ○○○, who is also an acquaintance of mine whom I love and respect. Ms. ○○○ is also a public figure in ○○ who has distinguished herself through her many social activities, and I believe she will be able to accomplish more for the alumni than I ever could.
Thank you for nominating me for the position of Alumni President. I would like to bow my head and express my deepest sympathies to all the alumni and friends who have helped me to develop the alumni association, and I hope that the support that you have given me will be extended to the incoming president, ○○○, to help our alumni association develop further. I sincerely hope that the alumni association will continue to grow and become a place where all alumni can support each other and move forward together.
I wish you and your families all the best, and I sign off. Sincerely
President of the High School Alumni Association Year-end Message
Hello, everyone. ○○High School Alumni, it’s already time to celebrate the fruits of another year, and I hope you all have reached your goals for this year.
Every year, we make a New Year’s plan and work hard every day to achieve it. Making plans for the year is something we’ve been doing since we were little kids, and at the beginning of every school year, we’d excitedly write down the things we wanted to accomplish in our notebooks, and we’d feel a lot of joy when we crossed them off one by one. But life doesn’t always go the way we plan, sometimes we face unexpected challenges, and even when things don’t go as planned, we’ve learned to grow and mature along the way. What matters is the valuable experience we gain from setting goals and taking steps towards them.
As we come to the end of another year with you, I am filled with fond memories of the past, especially of the highs and lows we shared on campus. Back then, we tackled everything with pure enthusiasm and learned to never give up, even in the face of setbacks. Now, as we move on with our lives, we strive to be the best we can be in our respective fields, but there comes a time when we feel empty inside. When I personally feel that way, I think back to my school days. The words of my teachers, my passion for dreaming and pursuing my dreams, and the warm encouragement of my seniors and juniors seem to fill my empty heart with warmth and moisture.
In our social life, it’s hard to find peers with whom you can share your heartfelt feelings, so I think people often say that the pure friendships made in school are the true friendships that can last a lifetime. What moments remind you of those days? I sometimes pause in my busy life to reminisce and soothe myself with memories from the past, like an old photograph I stumbled upon in an old bookcase, which, despite the passage of time, still remains vivid and makes me smile. I think that’s why the Alumni Association is more than just a gathering for all of us, it’s a part of our lives.
As the number of members of the Alumni Association grows with each passing day, I am proud to see that the friendships between seniors and juniors are getting stronger and stronger. I would like to ask you to continue to develop these friendships in the future, and to work together to encourage more juniors to join this important gathering. I believe that the Alumni Association should not only be a place to reflect on the past, but also a place to build the future together.
I hope today’s reunion will be an opportunity for us to reaffirm our strong friendships, talk openly about what’s been going on in our lives, and give each other words of encouragement and warm advice. I hope these gatherings will inspire us all to dream of a better tomorrow and celebrate each other’s growth.
Finally, I wish you a happy end to the year, and thank you once again for all your hard work and active participation in our Alumni Association. I wish you a happy new year, filled with hope and love, and I’d like to sign off.
Farewell from a volunteer club president
Hello, ○○Circle. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for organizing this meeting for me today. We, the ○○ Club, have been participating in sponsored events to help the less fortunate and strengthening our friendship with each other.
Last year, when I was chosen by you to take on the important role of president, I remember being very happy and feeling a great sense of responsibility. However, thanks to the warm advice of the previous presidents and the encouragement of the members, I have tried to do my best in my role, and it has been a time when I have not lost my focus, reflected your opinions, and worked hard for the development of the club. All of these experiences are precious and happy memories for me.
Every time our ○○ Club moves closer to its goals, every time we share our warmth with those in need, every time we see their happy smiles, I know that my efforts have been worthwhile.
If I had taken on this role as president with my personal authority, I would be ashamed to stand here today, but I am confident that I have done my best to avoid inconveniencing you, the members of the club, and to think only of the future of the club. Of course, there are still some regrets, but I ask for your generous understanding.
Although I am stepping down as president today, I will always be a member of the ○○ Club, and I will continue to offer my advice and support to the new president. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has believed in me and supported me so far. Any organization can’t grow with the efforts of just a few, and thanks to your active participation and dedication, our ○○ Club has continued to develop. I hope you will continue to support the incoming president and wish our club much success in the future.
Thank you.
Alumni President’s retirement speech
The year 2022 is just around the corner. I never thought time would fly by so fast. Why are we wasting time like this? When we reach the end of a year and look back, it’s as if we haven’t accomplished anything, but clearly we have accomplished a lot, and I think the reason you don’t feel that accomplishment is because you don’t believe in yourself. I believe that you are growing little by little, and that you will grow even more in the future.
We call the school we graduated from our ‘alma mater’. It’s like a mother to us, with teachers who taught us, friends we cried and laughed with, and a campus that embraced us. Our alma mater is a home away from home, a place where our cherished dreams and memories come alive.
When I took on the role of alumni president of ○○ High School, I was initially very apprehensive, wondering how I would be able to handle the job, given my lack of experience in many ways. But that was just a mirage. Once I realized that being an alumni president is not a one-man show, I was able to put my mind at ease and work harder for the alumni association. I realized that the role of alumni president is more of a volunteer role, working quietly behind the scenes to help the alumni association grow.
In fact, I don’t have any major accomplishments to show for my time as alumni president, but I often hear things like, “You warmed my heart.” I think the motto of an alumni association should be hometown warmth, and while I haven’t done anything spectacular enough to make history, I’m confident that I’ve at least created an alumni association that I look forward to seeing, thinking about, and reminiscing about. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who have nominated me for the position of Alumni President, and who have worked together for the development of the Alumni Association, and I hope that you will extend your support to the incoming President, Mr. ○○○, so that he can help us develop the Alumni Association even further. Thank you.
Elementary school alumni association president’s retirement speech
The year is already coming to an end, and the long, hot summer is giving way to a bountiful fall harvest. I predict that this fall will be even more bountiful than other years. The harder the summer, the more I look forward to fall. Just as the best time of our lives is now, the best time of the season is October, which is fall.
When I think back to my childhood, we were so happy, I was happy to have toys, I was happy to be able to go out and play all day, but now I’m not as happy as I was as a child. What about your life, do you have a clear picture in your head of what you want and how to be happy? Over time, we’ve acquired more and more things, and we’ve lost just as much, but what we shouldn’t forget is that there are moments of pure joy that we all carry in our hearts. Those little moments of happiness have become the memories that sustain us today, and they’re our own special treasures that we wouldn’t trade for anything.
It’s been said that being specific about what you love makes life more enjoyable. Be specific about what you want and strive for it. You’ll laugh more and be happier than you are now, and remember that happiness isn’t something far away, it’s hidden in the everyday things we face every day. When we cherish these small moments, we will be able to feel true happiness.
When we don’t see our favorite people very often, it makes it all the more refreshing when we do. Seeing the welcoming faces of many of my friends on this podium is like meeting the main characters in a movie. Every encounter with you brings new emotions and rekindles memories of the past, and I realize that these encounters are what make our lives richer.
It is said that the true youth of life begins at 60, and we want to make this golden period of our lives even more rewarding. It seems to me that the time has come to dedicate our passion to strengthening our friendship, which has become an unbreakable circle. Friendships seem to grow deeper with time, and what started as a simple playfulness in childhood has become a precious link to share life’s wisdom and experiences.
Don’t you miss the views from the windows of your alma mater? Isn’t there anything you don’t miss about the night sky and the streets of ○○? Today, let’s clear our minds, share a drink, and reminisce to our hearts’ content. This time we share is not just a reunion, but a process of filling in important pages of our life’s journey together. I hope today’s meeting will leave a lasting and cherished memory for all of us.
I have always regretted that I was not able to lead the alumni association properly during my time as president, and I hope that you will consider today’s meeting as a milestone in the development of the alumni association, and that you will work with the newly elected officers to develop the alumni association into an organization that is suitable for the golden years of life. Even if my term is over, I will always be there for the continued development of our alumni association. The active participation and love of our alumni is our greatest asset.
I sincerely thank you all for your generous embrace of this man who has failed to fulfill his responsibilities, and I sincerely wish my dear friends good health and good fortune. Thank you.
Greetings from the President of the Dog Bathing Volunteer Club
Hello, everyone. We are grateful for your loyalty in sticking with us through the changing seasons and busyness of the year. Seeing all of you here today reminds me of the friendships and trust that our club has built over the years.
As we go through life, we are constantly reminded of what one love, one heart can do. There have been many times in my own life when I’ve looked at one more humble heart and wondered what difference it would make, but for the puppies here at the shelter, that love, that heart, means the world to them. They are puppies who are hungry for love more than anything else. These are the puppies who stare out of their cages, longing for that one pet.
One moment in particular stands out in my mind. It was that love we were so skeptical of that healed a young Maltese who had been abandoned by his owner, refused to eat, and fell into a deep depression. The puppy gradually began to open up to our touch as we petted him and blow-dried him every bath time. With puppies like this, who crave love more than food, who wag their tails at us and show us their bellies even during the tiresome bath time, our time is beautiful. So, we, now, should not distrust or be skeptical about love, there is no cure as good as love, at least not here.
The time we’ve shared together in this circle hasn’t just been about taking care of the puppies. We’ve shared our hearts with each other, and we’ve grown together. While caring for the puppies, we’ve shared our stories, confided in each other, and we’ve all been there for each other. It’s more than just a service, it’s brought so much meaning and happiness to our lives.
When I take care of puppies, I am reminded that people are not as good as puppies, and I am amazed at the depth of love that puppies have for us, as they return our small hearts with infinite trust and loyalty. A year with puppies who return a little love a hundredfold, or a thousandfold, has been so precious and rewarding for me, along with all of you who love and care for animals.
Our club doesn’t just want to bathe puppies, but we also want to contribute to creating a world where animals and humans can coexist in harmony. I hope that we can continue to work towards this goal together and spread the importance of animal love to more people.
I pray that the love in our hearts will grow even bigger and form a warm river. May we love and respect animals as much as we love people, so that we can share the pain of all the hurting puppies and all the lonely and hurting animals in the world.
Thank you again for taking time out of your busy schedules to be here today. We’re grateful for the warmth you’ve shared this year, and we wish you all the best of luck and love in the coming year. That concludes my remarks, and thank you for listening.
