Self-improvement speaker 3-minute talk example 1
There was once a time when Chicklit was all the rage.
Young women were referred to as chicks, and novels about them were collectively called chick lit.
The signature phrase of chick lit was ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ which was made even more famous by being made into a movie.
Back then, we were obsessed with the chick lit heroine.
We were intrigued and envious of how they had their own personalities and dreams, and how they were growing up in the company, facing daily challenges.
We’d look at the glamorous women, with their sparkling bases in colorful cities, and wonder if we could be like them.
Especially for the younger generation, chick lit was more than just entertainment, it was a new culture that provided us with an image of women who could be socially successful.
But as time went on, we came to a sudden realization.
The conflicts faced by the chick lit heroines are so far removed from our own lives.
Chick lit protagonists are usually at the beginning of their careers.
They’re struggling to be accepted in the workplace and become socially competent women, and they’re growing up with setbacks and small victories.
However, the reality for many of us young women in our 20s is far different.
They pale in comparison to their movie counterparts.
Unlike their older sisters, who graduated and found their own jobs, they are plagued by an uncertain future.
Whereas in Chicklit, they were torn between their desire for luxury goods and a paycheck, now they’re torn between A-list knockoffs and marriage.
The world has gotten tougher, and there are far fewer places for the gorgeous women we see in movies.
As it turns out, the images of women in Chicklit are an illusion.
I can barely afford to pay my tuition, let alone a luxury bag.
I can’t find a job to pay my tuition, and I’m dragging my feet.
A sports car is out of the question.
You wonder if the day will ever come when you’ll be able to afford one.
It feels like the once-fashionable Goldsmith is fading into history.
But we can’t give up.
Every little bit of effort we put in will one day create another possibility.
We have to find our own way, even if we don’t work in a glamorous city with a gold watch like the characters in Chicklit.
The harder and more humble the reality seems, the more we need to believe in ourselves and figure out how to move forward.
The women in Chicklit must have seemed like something out of a fantasy.
The life of memorizing luxury brand names, having a boyfriend with a foreign car, and having an exciting romance – this is more of a fantasy for the average woman than the life of the average woman in the early 21st century.
It’s a soap opera or a movie.
I’m sure there are far more women who are living in the gritty, grimy present than living in a fantasy.
It reminds me of how small the world was for the women in Chicklit.
Even though the women in Chicklit are similar in age to women today, it is the women in the real world who face the world in a harsh reality.
Perhaps we mistake the lives we see on television and in movies for the average.
Maybe we’ve been thinking too much of big-city, upper-class women when we call them the norm for young women.
But the important thing is to write our own stories.
Even if it’s not a fantastical story like Chicklit, our lives are full of small, special moments.
The small accomplishments, the everyday growth, the warmth of lending a helping hand to someone – our lives are already a story in themselves.
Even if it’s not as glamorous as movies and novels, it’s still our own story.
Rather than chasing a fantasy life, shouldn’t we find ways to let ourselves shine in the real world?
Personal development speaker 3-minute speech example 2
My neighbor puts out a handmade flag in front of his house on Sundays to say thank you for the holiday.
My middle school nephew wears a tin cup like a watch because he hates paper cups.
I sometimes pour Coke out of a rock bottle to allude to its cleaning power.
Of course, these stories are imaginary, and incidents of wearing flowers in my hair don’t happen often.
It’s a light-hearted world, and with so many people chasing after practical and productive things, humor and silliness seem to be losing their place. But as we look back on life, sometimes our most valuable lessons come from seemingly meaningless actions.
The other day, I was moved by three songs in my music player.
Seo Tae-ji’s Pilseung was showing a foreshadowed resignation, and Shin Hae-chul’s What do you really want was a hilarious take on performanceism.
I immediately loaded the amplifier into my rear car and traveled to Yeouido and Myeongdong.
I cranked up the music, made a mountain of microscopes on the right and a mountain of televisions on the left, and ran between them.
Of course, these stories are also imaginary.
But even in our imaginations, these shenanigans make us laugh. So what about in the real world? Could it be that these little shenanigans really resonate with us?
The virtue of the mysterious energy of a delightfully wacky event is that it loosens up the muscles in our shoulders and neck.
Wackiness puts a comma in the middle of conflict, a pause in the midst of the fluff, and lets the wind out of the balloon.
In an age where everything is forced to be logical and organized, we often lose the ability to laugh and become serious. But goofiness is the most creative vitamin we can give ourselves.
I wish more people would actively be wacky.
I’d like to see more people be unapologetically goofy, as long as it doesn’t harm the common good.
For example, if a group of people stood on the side of the road and looked in one direction for no reason, how many people would burst out laughing, wondering why?
A wacky performance is more effective at cleansing anger and sadness than a headband or a statement.
Laughter erases pessimism.
More than just a good laugh, silliness opens our perspective.
We can rediscover the value of the little things that we subconsciously overlook in our daily routine.
For example, splashing around in a lake in a suit, or dancing in flip-flops in the center of the city, might be the only solace in the stress of the day for someone else.
Let’s be silly together.
That’s the first step to truly being free.
Thank you.
Personal Development Speaker 3 Minute Speech Example 3
They say the face is the window to the soul and the source of beauty.
So we spend a lot of time and effort decorating and caring for our faces.
This interest has been, is, and will be unchanged in the future.
Taking care of our appearance is now the number one concern for women, men, and everyone from their 20s to their 60s.
Don’t you wish your eyes were bigger, your wrinkles weren’t there, or your blemishes were gone?
But the standards by which facial beauty is judged have changed over time and geography.
But there are some truths that never change. The face has always been the center of beauty.
That’s why the face has been the subject of some of the oldest works of art,
and the centerpiece of many legends and tales.
Take, for example, the story of Narcissus, who was mesmerized by his reflection in a pond.
If he had seen someone else’s face instead of his own, the tragedy might not have happened.
Or, as the saying goes, “If only Cleopatra’s nose had been a little lower”.
The face is so important that it has shaped history.
It seems like there are huge differences in appearance from person to person.
But if you peel back the layers of skin, aren’t all faces essentially the same?
The problem is that that thin layer makes a huge difference,
and people are obsessed with it.
While we think of plastic surgery as a product of modern civilization, it actually dates back to ancient Egypt.
Long before Cleopatra, nose jobs were already being performed on the banks of the Nile.
Even though these surgeries would alter the innate purity of the face,
people have modified their faces to conform to the beauty demands of the times.
This is no different today than it was then, as the face is often a sign of power and status in itself.
But along with the obsession with appearance,
the face has also been a constant source of identity and soul-searching.
For example, 15th-century Flemish painters, who depicted the human face realistically and made no distinction between beauty and ugliness.
Flemish painters in the 15th century,
or the Renaissance painters’ attempts to rediscover the human face after it had been obscured by the face of God.
give us deep insight.
So what do you think?
Should we dismiss faces as meaningless once we peel back the layers?
Or is it that one thin layer that makes all the difference?
Today is the age of artificial intelligence, and we’re inundated with identical faces.
“I thought they were twins, but they had the same plastic surgeon” is a common joke.
Have you ever been mesmerized by something about someone’s face that made you want to look like them, without finding your own individuality?
and strive for a similar look without finding your own?
In the 21st century, where does your true individuality come from?
I bet it’s not the mole on the bridge of your nose.
Thanks for listening.

Part-time jobs usually start around the age of 20.
It starts out as a curiosity when you graduate from high school, and then as you enter college, part-time jobs become a cross in your life.
We grow up between the sadness of wondering if we’ll ever get out of part-time work and the burning desire for a full-time job.
If you make it through college without a part-time job, you’re thought of as either an obvious homebody, lazy, negligent, or socially unaware.
A slightly condescending stare is a must.
‘You’re so young, you don’t know the struggle.’
Maybe we think of part-time work as just a way to make ends meet, but it’s not. It’s a way to learn about society, build relationships, and sometimes even harden through failure. When I first started working and shadowing adults, it wasn’t just the money that I learned. Being on time and responsible, apologizing when you’re wrong, and being grateful for small accomplishments – these are all lessons learned through the textbook of part-time work.
“Part-time heaven” is a boom for job recruiters.
But in reality, it’s probably part-time hell.
The jobs are hard to find, and the pay is paltry.
It’s hard to even cover tuition fees, and you’re stuck in a ‘young man in debt for life’ situation.
There’s still suffering, but it’s hard to study.
‘Arbeit Macht Frei’ (work gives you freedom), but what kind of freedom is that?
If you’re not a daylight voracious reader in your youth, you need to be a nightlight voracious reader.
For us, it’s obviously classics.
But it wasn’t always a part-time job with a full stomach and a pat on the back.
In a newspaper in 1923, I saw an article titled “Dear Brothers Who Are Coming to Japan to Study Higher Education”.
It reads, “For delivering newspapers, you will be paid around twenty won. After buying rice, you can pay for your school fees with five yuan. Milk delivery is 67 won, but there is no time to review or practice because you work morning and night. The toilet cleaner gives me 1050 won per house, but I feel humiliated and insulted beyond words.”
A rickshaw ride pays for school fees, but “if you go to school without sleep, how can the lectures go into your head?” he said.
They said, “There is suffering, but there is no learning.”
Nevertheless, our elders went on in silence. At that time, higher learning was not just for the survival of an individual. It was about the collective hope of saving a family, and perhaps even escaping poverty and ignorance. The same is true today. Young people still juggle part-time jobs and schooling to prepare for the future. But shouldn’t we be positive that we have more resources, more options, more pathways?
Studying and working is just as overwhelming now as it was then.
But I think about it.
It’s a hardship to experience while young, and a hardship to learn while young.
After today, we have tomorrow, so that’s the hope.
I don’t want you to despair because it won’t always be like today.
Isn’t it because there is a tomorrow to come that we work hard today.
Because, in the words of Scarlett in Gone with the Wind, tomorrow the sun will rise.
In the end, all the hardships and adversity we experience are part of the process of hardening us. The life skills we learn at our part-time jobs will serve us well in the rest of our lives. Some people say you have to live in the moment, but I say, “Live for today. You’re doing a good enough job just surviving today. Let’s live today, everyone, knowing that tomorrow’s sun will shine on us even brighter.
Personal Development Speaker 3 Minute Speech Example 5
Imagine you are on death row and you have five minutes to live.
In your 28 years of life, you’ve never had five minutes seem so precious.
Now, how would you spend those five minutes?
Two minutes to say goodbye to the death row inmate next to you, one word at a time, and two minutes to summarize your life up to this point,
and one minute to look around at the earth and nature.
As I swallowed the tears that were forming in my eyes, I said goodbye and took a moment to think about my family.
And just as you’re about to reflect on yourself, you realize that in three minutes, your life will be over, too.
This is the story of Dostoevsky.
He begins to regret that he hasn’t spent the last 28 years of his life well.
Now he wishes he could live them all over again.
Just when he thinks he’s dead, he’s miraculously released.
He could never forget the preciousness of the time he now felt,
As a result, he published numerous works, including The Brothers Karamazov and The Eternal Meeting.
and became a world-renowned literary figure comparable to Tolstoy.
So, folks, how have we been managing our time?
If I had only five minutes to live,
have I thought about how I would spend my last five minutes?
Life is a series of five minutes.
Only when we are near death, as he was, and feel fear and regret.
If we realize the preciousness of time, can’t we be a little wiser than that?
Let’s take our five minutes, right now, and ask ourselves.
“Am I using these five minutes well, without regret?”
At the end of the day, we waste a lot of time without even realizing it.
You spend 15 hours in the library to study.
less than 10 hours are actually spent studying.
You get coffee, you chat, you distract yourself, you walk around, you make phone calls, etc.
These little things add up and you lose track of time.
How I’m spending my time,
how I’m spending my time?
The truth is, we feel the passage of time
but we don’t realize how much time we’re spending.
But all of these moments will never come back.
The phrase “time is money” isn’t just an economic analogy,
it’s an important principle that makes life itself worth living.
You plan your money carefully,
but how intentional are you with your time?
Where and how much time you spend,
and how much you’re wasting, in a more objective, quantifiable way.
It’s pretty simple to do.
We want you to set aside a period of time to check off and record.
I want you to be as detailed as possible, to the extent possible.
This will help you understand where you’re wasting the most time,
and how I can be more productive with my time.
Conquering time also requires setting goals and taking “intentional action” to achieve them.
“intentional action” to achieve them.
We often try to use our time with only a vague desire.
But to live a time-conquering life, you need to be focused and present in every moment,
clarify priorities, and not be distracted by unnecessary things.
Folks, if Dostoevsky hadn’t been miraculously released from prison.
He might not have remained a literary figure comparable to Tolstoy.
That opportunity led to his realization of the value of his hard work and time.
We can have that realization right here, right now.
Time is given to all of us equally,
and how we spend it can completely change our lives.
Finally, I’d like to close with a question.
“Right now, in this moment, for what you consider to be the most important things in your life
are you truly investing your time in what you think is most important in your life?”
To help you answer this question with a confident “Yes!”
I encourage you to start using your time consciously today.
Thank you, everyone, for listening.
Personal development speaker 3-minute speech Example 6
Let’s take the example of studying.
In the same classroom, with the same teacher teaching the study, some people get 100 points and some people get 0 points.
Many people think: “Maybe the student who got a 100 is smart, and the student who got a 0 is dumb.” But is that really the difference?
But is that really the only difference?
I don’t think so.
I argue that the difference is not intelligence, talent, or innate ability, but rather habit.
In fact, most students don’t get low grades because they don’t know how to study well.
The problem is that bad habits such as procrastination, distraction, poor time management, acting without a plan, and lack of willpower dominate their lives.
So let’s take a look at ourselves.
Instead of simply evaluating yourself with a blanket statement like “I’m lazy” or “I have no sense of time,” try being specific, like “I watch TV for more than four hours a day” or “I sleep an average of more than 10 hours a night.”
This is because broad statements tend to obscure the true nature of the problem.
After you’ve written down your bad habits, now list the opposite good habits for each item.
For example, “Watch less TV,” “Sleep less,” and so on.
Then imagine the positive outcome of changing that habit.
For example, “I’ll have more connections,” “I’ll have more time for myself,” or “I won’t be late for work.” This is what drives you to take action.
This is a powerful motivator that will drive you to take action.
But here’s the thing: you don’t get rid of habits, you replace them.
Once you’ve decided to break a bad habit, you need to think carefully about what a new habit will replace it.
For example, you can’t just say, “I’m going to stop watching TV,” you need to identify a specific activity to fill that time.
You’re more likely to stick with it if you have alternatives, such as “read a book,” “go for a walk,” or “exercise.”
You should also choose your new habit with a clear sense of purpose.
This is because the clearer the purpose, the easier it is for us to make the change.
So, what’s next?
The first step to changing your habits is to move from being a dreamer to a doer.
You can’t just dream about a better you in your head, you have to take action.
And the most important part of that process is consistency.
When we make small changes, even small ones, over and over again, they connect our conscious and unconscious minds and create a new you.
Only through practice and discipline can we develop self-control.
Remember, if you can’t control yourself, you can’t reach your full potential.
To change a single habit, you need to train your conscious mind to talk to your unconscious mind.
During this process, the unconscious becomes more and more powerful, and eventually the new habit becomes a natural behavior that requires no conscious effort.
According to experts, the training period required for the average person to experience the first changes is about six to nine months.
And the average time needed to notice successful results is three years.
In short, it takes at least six months of persistence and hard work to change yourself.
And the amazing thing is, the more you persist, the more persistent you become.
So believe in yourself and hang in there a little longer, even when you feel like giving up right now.
Finally, I’d like to close by sharing one of my favorite quotes.
“Small changes may seem insignificant, but they add up to change the direction of your life.”
The changes you start making today will one day turn your life around.
Thank you for listening.
3-Minute Speech Example 7 by a Personal Development Speaker
Good afternoon, everyone.
Thank you so much for being here today.
We consume every day, just like we breathe.
In a capitalist society, consumption is the norm, and sometimes even waste is taken for granted.
So why is it that we can’t seem to cut back on our consumption, even as we choke on our credit card bills every month?
Maybe it’s because we’ve started to see spending beyond our means as beautiful.
But what’s behind this behavior of spending unnecessary money on things we don’t need?
Let’s take an example.
Imagine a man who needs a car to travel long distances.
His choice is a Porsche. Was it really a rational choice just for transportation?
Another example is a woman who wants to buy a bag to hold her things and shoes to protect her feet from the hot asphalt.
But she chooses a Prada handbag or a pair of high heels from Chanel.
This is the kind of consumption that leads to “self-stimulation” and “social ostentation.
At the end of this consumption is the desire to prove one’s worth with an expensive purchase.
But we have to stop and think here.
Did the items we acquire as a result of our spending activities really make us happy, and how long did the pleasure last?
Most of the time, the pleasure is short-lived and we find ourselves craving new consumption again.
So how do we break free from this cycle?
Have you ever left your credit card at the mall?
Or have you ever soberly compared what you paid for with your idea of happiness?
It’s important to ask yourself if your spending is a choice you make for yourself, or if it’s a choice you make because of what others think of you.
I recommend thinking of consumption as an “investment.”
When you buy an item, think deeply about how much real value it will add to your life and how it will bring you lasting satisfaction.
Even if it’s just a handbag, be honest with yourself and ask why it needs to be a luxury item.
“Deserving” a luxury item isn’t just about being able to afford it.
It’s about being able to harmonize the object with your life, and making it a choice that you don’t regret after the purchase.
I don’t want a Louis Vuitton bag because everyone else is carrying one, so I should too,
If I can afford to buy a Louis Vuitton bag, and if my life is enriched by it, then only then will I find meaning in my choices.
Our spending reflects our values and the direction of our lives.
So how are you expressing your life through your consumption?
Finally, I’d like to end today’s talk by leaving you with a question.
What’s the most recent purchase you’ve made?
If it brought you joy, I want you to think about how long it lasted.
It is my sincere hope that your spending will be the seed that grows your happiness.
Thank you so much for listening.
Personal Development Speaker 3-minute speech Example 8
In 1340, when England and France were fighting the Hundred Years’ War, the French fleet suffered a crushing defeat at the Battle of the Sluice. The courtiers were unsure how to break the news to the king.
Then, the court jester stepped forward and said.
“Your Majesty, it seems that the English sailors don’t even have the guts to jump into the water like our brave French sailors.”
Something similar happened in Korea.
“A king should be a king and a servant should be a servant, but if a king is not a king and a servant is not a servant, how can I eat, no matter how much grain I have?”
The story goes that the clown Gong Gong made this statement to the king, and he got in trouble and went home.
It’s true. Sometimes we don’t face reality.
We know we need to stand up straight, but it’s hard to do.
Sometimes we’re comfortable stepping aside for fear of being cut by the sharpness and righteousness.
That’s how we become “little people.
We get upset over small things.
We get angry that there are a few fewer bones in our potato soup than last time, and we get annoyed by the hand that hands out flyers at the subway station.
We don’t like the look of a stranger wearing mismatched clothes, and we get unnecessarily angry at a cat watching us from afar on the street at night.
We get angry, often.
Every once in a while, someone comes along who won’t shut up about it.
They shout at the world, they fight back in their own way.
We look at them and feel relieved.
It’s like they’re fighting the world for us, and it’s strangely comforting.
But when we turn off the screen, when we come back to reality, our daily lives await.
Faced with bills, credit card bills, and unresolved problems, we look up to the sky again.
雲外蒼天.
Beyond the clouds, the sky is always blue.
When I see people on TV speaking their minds, or spewing their passion on the internet, I sometimes feel self-deprecating.
Sometimes I feel ashamed of how powerless I am compared to them.
But we, it’s okay.
As long as we don’t close our eyes and plug our ears, we’re doing just fine.
As long as we’re happy for them, cheering them on, and hoping the world will get better, even just a little bit, that’s enough.
I hope they’re not indifferent to what’s going on in the world.
I want you to cheer them on as they take on the world, even from a distance.
And let’s hope from the bottom of our hearts that the world we live in is better.
Self-development lecturer 3-minute speech Example 9
Plastic surgery is about finding the root of where there are complexes in our appearance and improving them.
There are some people who always look sleepy-eyed because they lack strength in the muscles that open their eyes.
Because they don’t have the strength to open their eyes, they use their forehead muscles frequently, resulting in deep wrinkles on their forehead.
If this is the case, a brow lift surgery will make it much easier for you to open and close your eyes.
It will also prevent further wrinkles from forming because the forehead muscles are no longer used.
In the end, it’s about making small changes that can improve not just your appearance, but your day-to-day quality of life.
Cosmetic surgery isn’t just a temporary fix for external beauty.
It’s a much quicker and proven way to achieve results, compared to imported anti-aging creams and massages that can cost millions of dollars a bottle.
Cosmetic surgery is no longer the preserve of a certain class of people.
Many people are regaining their confidence at an affordable cost, which is proof that our society is open to recognizing individual diversity and finding their own path to happiness.
If you have a small eye complex, there are a number of things you can do to overcome it.
You could stick to thick eyeliner and smoky makeup for the rest of your life, create fake eyelids with double eyelid tape, or get double eyelid surgery at a plastic surgeon.
However, it might be more economical to have a one-time eyelid surgery than to irritate your eyelids with heavy makeup and eyelid tape for the rest of your life.
The key here is freedom of choice.
Finding what works for you and your circumstances is the starting point for self-improvement.
Healthy beauty is often referred to as “inner beauty.
It implies that outer beauty starts with inner health.
An inner beauty mindset is also necessary when considering cosmetic surgery.
It’s important to know what you’re good at and what you want to overcome.
Only then will you feel truly confident when you have improved your complexes.
If you have a clear understanding of yourself, plastic surgery can be a real means of self-improvement that involves not only external changes, but also internal ones.
It doesn’t take long to go from “I heard someone else had plastic surgery” to “I have plastic surgery all over me.
In the name of personal choice, we meet ‘plastic surgery’ as an enjoyable area of self-improvement.
A boost of confidence and a more fulfilling life.
But we end up struggling endlessly with the question of whether our choices are voluntary or involuntary.
When choosing plastic surgery, we need to find a balance between social norms and our true desires.
For example, it’s often seen as an investment in professional competitiveness, not just a cosmetic change.
In light of this reality, we need to think about plastic surgery not just as an outlet for aesthetic desires, but also as an individual’s response to social demands.
While we can’t condemn individuals who choose to undergo plastic surgery, we can’t help but talk about the social climate that makes those who are well-decorated and maintained look like self-improvers, and those who are not, like those who don’t take care of their bodies.
The kind of self-improvement we should be striving for is not only based on external beauty, but on inner health, harmony, and satisfaction with our lives.
The argument that cosmetic surgery is a “personal” choice to improve self-esteem overlooks the many social and structural issues surrounding it.
Even when we meet up with friends to chat, we end up talking about getting plastic surgery to get a job.
We’re moving into a world where plastic surgery is a way for people to survive in order to meet the demands for “a face that can be trusted and make a strong first impression”.
It’s not just about external changes.
It’s about how we can reconcile inner growth with outer change.
So how should we think about plastic surgery?
It’s clear that you are the owner of your body, and that you should love it just the way it is, and strive for health and beauty in body and mind.
But the argument that we shouldn’t have plastic surgery for this reason is no longer convincing.
What matters, and what we shouldn’t forget, is when did the face and body I want become the face and body I want?
Isn’t it time to start thinking again about how to be a truly joyful agent of self-improvement?
We all want to feel confident in the way we look, and we all want that confidence to enrich our lives.
Plastic surgery isn’t just a cosmetic change, it can be part of the process of strengthening our inner self and finding true life satisfaction.
Thank you, everyone, for listening.
Personal Development Speaker 3 Minute Speech Example 10
Until my sophomore year, I never missed a day of school.
I had a breakdown one day in May of my senior year. The school’s baseball team had made it to the national finals after 26 years.
After the semifinals, my friends and I started to get drunk.
They had to go to Dongdaemun Stadium to cheer for the final game the next day. Mali took the night train, leaving her mother behind.
It was a high school senior under pressure.
One day of absence.
She hadn’t gotten the honor award the previous year, but she always got the attendance award, and she blew it. And her entrance exam that year ended in failure.
It’s a sad and embarrassing memory.
If I had been there to watch the final, I wouldn’t have been so disappointed.
It’s true that I still have some regret that I didn’t make it to the end.
This little anecdote was a lesson in how valuable integrity is.
I realized that day how one small action can have a huge impact in the long run.
It was this small act of integrity that kept me on track and moving toward my goals.
I learned then that diligence, no matter how small it may seem, is an important value that shapes our habits, attitudes, and even the direction of our lives.
The recent news about the disappearance of the valedictorian at elementary school graduations brought back memories of 36 years ago.
In recent years, many elementary schools have done away with the ceremony altogether.
This is because family field trips and participation in ceremonies can be counted as attendance with a simple report.
As attendance without school becomes more common, the meaning of attendance is bound to fade.
In fact, it’s a sign of the times.
With the current emphasis on flexibility in education and the value of diverse experiences, some argue that rewarding students based on attendance alone is anachronistic.
The logic is that traveling with family and experiential learning can teach children more.
However, I wonder if the loss of attendance awards is just another example of the undermining of public education that is becoming more prevalent in our society.
I wonder if it’s not uncommon to hear that classrooms start to fill up with students who have left for short-term English programs at the beginning of the school year.
Isn’t the virtue of integrity built on more than just not skipping school, but on a steady stream of small, everyday actions?
The United States, the home of baseball, has many legendary records.
But there’s one record that doesn’t hold a candle to Japan’s.
It’s Sachio Kinugasa’s record of 2131 consecutive games played, set on June 3, 1987.
The previous record was 2130 games by New York Yankees slugger Lou Gehrig in the 20s and 30s.
American baseball fans revere Kinugasa because they believe his record reflects an unparalleled level of integrity and tenacity.
His record is more than just a number.
Kinugasa has never given up, even in the face of injuries or slumps.
This earned him more respect because it symbolized more than just his participation in the game – it symbolized a life of integrity.
I hope we see more of this kind of integrity in our society.
While the times have changed, and school and home are now managing the educational scene together, the disappearance of the open attendance is a bit of a bummer.
Is it because of old wounds?
Consider the idea of integrity.
While it’s true that a results-oriented learning atmosphere is pervasive, isn’t the process just as important as the outcome?
And I think integrity is at the center of that process.
The first thing we need to teach our children is integrity.
Integrity is the foundation of our lives.
In today’s fast-paced society, it’s easy to dismiss the importance of doing the small things consistently.
But in hindsight, we all realize that big accomplishments are built on small acts of integrity.
A clever person can’t beat a conscientious person.
May we make integrity a habit so that we can support our children as they grow into bigger and better people.
And may we all remember the value of integrity and continue to practice it in our own lives.
Thank you, everyone, for listening.
Personal Development Speaker 3 Minute Speech Example 11
Risk everything on one thing.
Dig a deep well in only one area. Dig it, dig it, dig it, dig it, until you see the end.
Is this something you have to be crazy to do?
Is this a story only for geniuses?
Can’t it be a story for ordinary people like us?
Finding something to focus on.
In the end, you can only do this by choosing what you want, by finding something worth betting your life on.
If you find something worthy enough to bet your life on, there’s no reason to hesitate.
Some people spend their entire lives searching for that dream and never find it.
Compared to that, how lucky am I to have found my dream?
Once you’ve chosen, stay focused.
Once you’ve chosen your niche, it’s time to put all your energy into that one thing.
But it’s scary.
The anxiety that’s been in the back of my mind since I was a kid is creeping up on me.
“Will I be good at it? Will I be successful? Will I make a living?
It’s a constant stream of thoughts.
So most people don’t put all their eggs in one basket.
They get intimidated and give up or quit.
Or they choose what they’re best at, but give up because no one recognizes it, it takes too much time, or it doesn’t make money.
But only those who stick with it succeed.
If you put your all into an area, even if it’s a small area, you’re bound to succeed.
Because success is the reward for those who don’t give up until the end.
You have to put it all on the line.
Remember, as history has proven, choice and focus are the most important principles for success in your life.
3-Minute Speech by a Personal Development Speaker Example 12
Good afternoon, everyone.
I would like to thank everyone for joining us today.
You’re here at different stages of your lives, whether you’re just starting out in life, a student, an examinee, or a working professional. But one thing you all have in common is that you’re here by choice, and I sincerely hope that this talk will inspire you to take a step forward in your life.
First, let’s think about “you today”.
Have you ever asked yourself who you are today and why you are the way you are? The person you are today didn’t just happen by accident. The person you are today is the result of the choices we made in the past. Our circumstances don’t determine our destiny; they are merely the stage for the choices we make, and what we do on it is entirely up to us.
There’s a famous phrase that goes along with this. Bernard Shaw once said.
“People always blame their circumstances for their present condition. I don’t believe in blaming circumstances. The people who are in this position are the ones who get up in the morning and look for the circumstances they want, and if they don’t find them, they create them.”
There’s a very important lesson in this quote. We need to use our choices to shape the future, but thinking in new ways is never easy. It takes a lot of courage and effort to let go of old habits and ways of thinking, but it’s through this difficult process that change and growth are possible.
Let me give you an example: many of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs started out in difficult circumstances. They didn’t just adapt to their circumstances, they created the circumstances they wanted. For example, Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, grew up in a very poor environment, but he constantly challenged himself to create the future he envisioned for himself. His choices helped make Apple what it is today.
We all have the freedom to choose our actions. But freedom of action doesn’t mean we can choose every outcome. Outcomes are always determined by the principle of cause and effect.
There’s a saying that goes, “Your thoughts are the cause, and your current state of being is the effect.”
This means that your thoughts and attitudes have the power to change your life, so you need to choose the right thoughts and behaviors to achieve good results.
If you’re feeling doubtful about your life right now, or feel like you’re falling behind others, take a moment to reflect on your choices and make new ones to create a better tomorrow. If you have the courage to look at yourself and take a step in the right direction, that in itself is already the beginning of a big change.
In closing, I’d like to say one thing.
Your life is not someone else’s to live for you. Starting today, believe in yourself, be honest with yourself, and move towards the future you want. The key to changing your life is in your hands.
Thank you for listening.
I hope this talk will have a positive impact on your choices and your life.
Personal Development Speaker 3-Minute Speech Example 13
Whether it’s a well-mannered or unmannered job change, a drastic change of environment often traumatizes people.
Probably most people experience unexpected stress after changing jobs and struggle with it for a while.
You toss and turn for hours at night, and during the day, headaches and fatigue make it hard to concentrate.
You may even find yourself running to the bathroom several times a day due to stomach aches.
This is not a sign of weakness, but rather the price your body and mind pay to adapt to a new environment.
A growing number of people report changes such as extreme fatigue, headaches, indigestion, and sleep disturbances as they adjust to their new environment after a job change.
These symptoms are often referred to as ‘new job syndrome’.
This symptom, which is a combination of stress and tension, is more often observed in women than in men, and in people who have had one or two unsuccessful job changes than in first-time job changers.
This is likely due to anxiety stemming from past failures and a compulsion to avoid disappointment in the new job.
There are many reasons to feel stressed in a new job.
Especially if you’re a new hire, it’s easy to feel pressured to perform quickly because you’ve come at a relatively high price.
There’s also the added challenge of forging new relationships with people already in the organization.
Often, subordinates view you as a “parachute” from outside the organization and look at you with an unflattering eye, while department members may be passive-aggressive, neglecting to report important tasks.
You may be seen as a competitor by your senior colleagues and an unwelcome boss by your juniors.
As this continues, your mind becomes increasingly impatient, and your thoughts turn to “I need to perform quickly so I can be recognized by my department.”
But paradoxically, this urgency can make it harder to build relationships with the people you need to get cooperation from.
So how can you get off to a positive start at your new job?
The most important thing is to quickly set your vision and goals for your new environment and let go of the culture of your old job.
In order to fully integrate into your new job, it’s key to establish a “collaborative” rather than “competitive” relationship with existing employees.
As an experienced employee, you need to instill trust in existing employees that you are not a competitor, but a partner to grow with.
You can do this by demonstrating your skills by successfully completing even small projects, and by being willing to collaborate with your coworkers when they ask for help.
Impatience is one of the most difficult things to deal with when adjusting to a new job.
Rather than rushing to get things done, you should try to slowly embed yourself into the organization with a positive and relaxed attitude.
The first day is always unfamiliar and scary, but it’s also important to find a sense of calm to overcome this.
Incorporate simple stress management practices like meditation and deep breathing into your daily routine, allow yourself reasonable breaks, and be wary of excessive self-criticism.
It’s also helpful to broaden your social circle outside of work by participating in small company events and informal interactions with coworkers.
In the modern world, changing jobs is no longer something special.
Everyone changes jobs to find better opportunities and work in a better environment.
But if you don’t adjust well after a job change, you may doubt your worth or worry that you won’t be able to perform at your new job.
The more you do this, the more you need to be gentle with yourself and take it slow, knowing that “I’m an integral part of this organization.”
It takes time for a rolled stone to become part of the existing organization.
Fill that time with a positive attitude, and you’ll be well on your way to a successful start at your new job.
In conclusion, let go of greed and take your time.
And gradually integrating into the organization and building collaborative relationships.
Remember, these are the two most powerful ways to combat new job syndrome.
Thank you very much, everyone, for listening.
Personal Development Speaker 3-Minute Speech Example 14
A few days ago, a friend told me a story about an older gentleman he met on a hiking trail.
He had retired from a high-powered position in a so-called good job and had lived the life of a Southern gentleman, with a substantial fortune, a stable home, and well-grown children.
But when I happened to catch up with a friend, the conversation was one of desperate loneliness.
He explained that even though he was spending more time at home, he found it difficult to talk openly with his wife and children.
Like the ever-popular “three meals a day” story, his wife actually welcomed him coming home late in the evening after being out all day, and he found it difficult to find friends to have dinner with and talk to.
Even in retirement, when he meets up with old friends he can’t have a real conversation with, it just leads to empty talk, so he ends up avoiding them, and walking alone on mountain trails has become his daily routine.
The problem is, he’s not alone.
It’s the present and the future for many men across the country who have been running ahead of themselves.
Even my husband, who is in his mid-50s, laments that when he goes to dinner parties these days, he hears stories that caricature the plight of retired men.
Why is this happening? There are many reasons, but a quote from a friend has stuck with me.
“Could it be because we’ve been living our lives based on ‘what to be’ instead of what we are?”
His point was simple: we’ve made it our goal to make more money, to climb higher, and the moment we let go of that goal, we lose direction in life.
Maybe the reason money and status have become goals in our lives is because we’ve lost the ability to think.
A society that doesn’t even give us the time to think about the true value of life or what we really want.
Or maybe it was a society where such thoughts were considered a luxury and taboo.
In the MBC documentary “Fifteen Years Old, Dream Classroom,” which aired in January of last year, a junior high school student was asked about his dreams.
“Well, we just study, thinking that once we go well in high school and go well in college, then we will have a dream.”
This student believes that if they “just” study, their dreams will come.
However, contrary to this student’s belief, many students still haven’t found their dreams when they reach college.
Even college professors are tongue-in-cheek when they say that students today don’t even know what they want to do.
Without knowing themselves, without knowing their dreams, they just aspire to money and status.
Some call it a society that mortgages today’s happiness for tomorrow.
But what many of these people end up with is a lonely life, alienated from family and friends.
A happier society will only be possible when this way of life is no longer the mainstream of our society.
The first step is for each of us to reclaim sovereignty over our own lives.
And reclaiming sovereignty over our lives starts with having the courage to reflect on ourselves.
The society we will create will be very different from the one we have now.
Instead of studying “just because,” children will dream first and study to realize their dreams.
Parents will seek out a truly good education instead of pushing their children into an endless race to the bottom.
Men will be able to move away from a work-centered life and seek a more relationship-oriented life.
Isn’t it time we made that change?
Thank you for listening.
Personal Development Speaker 3 Minute Speech Example 15
Good morning, everyone.
It’s the beginning of a new year.
At this time of year, many of you might be thinking about getting your fortune told for the year ahead, but to what extent can the four directions affect our lives?
What are the four cardinal directions?
With the advent of the human genome map, we’ve entered an era where we can analyze a person’s temperament and health, but that’s just the result of analyzing a sequence of four bases.
Similarly, the Chinese horoscope is a system that analyzes the date and time of birth, applying cosmic principles passed down from generation to generation to study personality, health, and the flow of fortune.
Saju is a combination of eight letters placed on four pillars to read one’s natural temperament, and Mingli is said to be a process of realizing life based on this.
The common phrase, “Aha, my eight characters,” refers to these four pillars and eight characters. But it’s not all deterministic destiny.
Instead of saying the four pillars of fortune, wouldn’t it be more appropriate to add heart to the mix and call it the four pillars of fortune?
If the four houses are cars, then luck can be likened to a highway, and the “specific years” we encounter in our lives are the rest stops along the way.
Even if you’re born in the same four-year period, your fate can vary depending on what luck comes your way and how you utilize and spend it.
You might be more comfortable driving down the highway in a Tico than you are driving down a country road in a Benz, right?
Plus, the journey will be much more enjoyable if you stop at a pleasant rest stop to rest and recharge your batteries.
Contemplation is more important than judgment, and heart is more important than mind.
Even if you have a good face, your face will change depending on the way you live, and your face will change depending on your mind.
Isn’t this what the elders who have learned the wisdom of life always say?
So, can you change your natural face?
While it’s impossible to change the shijuu itself, it is possible to overcome it or reduce the aftermath.
Seeing the four seasons is like listening to a weather forecast.
It’s like listening to a weather forecast: it’s raining, but some people don’t pack an umbrella and get soaked, while others are protected by it.
Others make the smart choice and head out after the rain stops.
The same goes for the wind and the sun. You can’t defy the forces of nature, but how you use them can make all the difference.
At the end of the day, life can be different depending on how you understand and embrace your own mortality and destiny.
The most important thing is to think deeply about what you want to do with your life.
Instead of asking vague questions like “What will make me successful?” and “When will the shackles be lifted?” without making any effort to carve out a life for yourself, wouldn’t it be better to take some time for introspection?
When good fortune does come your way, you need to be prepared to make it your own.
In conclusion, my advice to you is simple.
Take your life seriously, and take control of your destiny.
Thank you for listening.
Personal Development Speaker 3 Minute Speech Example 16
Hello, everyone.
Thank you all so much for joining us today.
I’d like to ask you a question.
How many friends or coworkers do you have that are truly close to you?
The things we really want, we can work hard, save our money, and eventually get them.
But the human heart is a much more complex thing that can’t be acquired through hard work and greed alone.
Our minds are as diverse as we are.
With so many thoughts running through our minds at any given moment, it’s not easy to capture our hearts.
And when you’ve got habits of solitude from your college days, making connections can be even harder.
It takes time and effort to befriend one person in a crowd and earn their trust as a colleague.
If you happen to have a good friend or coworker by your side, it’s like finding the greatest meaning out of all the many reasons to live.
Because the human heart is not won by calculation and shallow maneuvering.
A heart that you like unconditionally and want to share what you have without expecting anything in return is the beginning of a true relationship.
To meet a good person, to meet someone with whom you can share your heart, to meet someone who understands and loves you,
And to find someone who is on the same page with you is a blessing and a fortune.
So don’t forget to cherish the people you have close to you, but also cherish the relationships you have with people who connect with your heart, even if they are far away.
Perhaps the key to true happiness is not material wealth, but the satisfaction that comes from having a rich heart.
I hope that today’s talk has given you a taste of that.
Thank you for listening.
3-Minute Speech Example 17 by Self-Improvement Speaker
Hello, everyone.
I’m Mr. ○○○, your instructor.
“Doing it alone.” ”Playing alone.”
How does that sound?
Do you already feel rejected, or are you afraid of how people will look at you as a bully?
How comfortable are you with playing alone?
Today I’d like to share a story that challenges herd culture.
It’s a rebellion against collectivism.
If you’re afraid to do something alone, it’s probably because you feel rejected by society.
As Koreans, we are used to being “together” rather than “alone”.
We’re always doing things in groups, so our ability to do things alone is deteriorating.
However, depending on the person or situation, it is essential to train yourself to do things alone.
Some people go to the movies alone, some people eat alone in restaurants, some people hike alone, some people shop alone,
or someone grilling pork belly by themselves?
Have you ever looked at them strangely?
Or were you just indifferent to them?
We need to free ourselves from the gaze of others.
We need to practice living a life that doesn’t depend on others.
Otherwise, we may not be able to become fully independent individuals in our 30s and 40s.
Being “alone” is not the same as being egotistical or self-centered.
Some say it’s “the ability to have healthy relationships,” but I disagree.
There are two impulses in life.
One is the urge to be in intimate relationships, and the other is the urge to go inward through solitude.
I’m not going to advocate that you develop the ability to be alone.
But I would say don’t be dependent, don’t lean, be independent.
Break away from the group and do something on your own.
Face the anxiety you feel when you step away from the group.
And I hope you realize how dependent you’ve been.
Thank you for listening.
Playing alone is possible in society.
Let’s start living a life that reassures you and allows you to play alone.
Thank you.
3 Minute Speech Example 18
Greetings, Mr. Lee.
I’m ○○○, a lecturer at a self-improvement lecture.
Why are you here? What are you hoping to get out of this?
Perhaps you’re here to listen to your own voice for a change, to reflect on who you expect yourself to be, not who others expect you to be.
If so, how much have you been investing in yourself?
Have you reflected on how much time you’ve spent on what you want, what makes you happy?
Of course, we live in a society. If we focus on ourselves to the exclusion of the needs of others, it can come across as selfish, and we may even alienate ourselves from those around us.
But what if, on the flip side, we spend our lives solely focused on fulfilling the needs of others? That’s not right either.
Humans live for happiness. Helping others is ultimately about your own happiness. For the satisfaction of helping others, and to feel connected and connected to people.
So here’s my challenge to you. Let go of the heavy burdens you carry on your shoulders one by one.
First, make a list of the things in your life that you are truly engaged in.
Cross off the single most insignificant thing on that list.
If you crossed it off, would your life be seriously shaken up?
Again, try to eliminate the next least important thing.
Are you hesitant? No, you’ve already done it, so let’s do it again, just one more thing.
Through this process, you’ll ask yourself.
“What do I truly value?”
Sure, people around you may be disappointed when you let go, because they expect you to always be in charge and committed as you are now. But this “letting go” gives you a new freedom.
If you’re always meeting the demands and expectations of everyone but yourself, you’ll never have time for yourself.
The world isn’t going to turn upside down, the sky isn’t going to fall, and Mount Halla isn’t going to explode if you let go of one burden after another.
Lighten your load and lighten your heart.
A more vibrant and joyful life is waiting for you.
We look forward to seeing you truly lighten up.
Thank you.
Self-development lecturer 3-minute speech Example 19
Hello, everyone.
I am ○○○, a lecturer who is here to help you with your personal development.
First of all, I’m very happy to be here with all of you who are interested in self-development.
Nowadays, society is so busy and fast-paced. As a result, it’s hard to find many people who take the time to stop and reflect on themselves, as it’s often seen as a sign of falling behind, but that’s a false sense of urgency.
The faster you move forward, the more time you need to stop and reflect. Otherwise, you may mistake the wrong path for the right one, which can lead to irreversible mistakes.
There’s a saying that goes, “Knock on stony bridges before you cross them.
There’s also the old saying, “The sooner you turn around, the better.
It’s imperative that we take the time to self-examine, fill in the gaps, and move forward. This process of filling in the gaps is at the heart of the personal development program we’ll be discussing in this talk.
We meet a lot of people, collaborate with a lot of people, and work towards a common goal, but paradoxically, we feel more lonely and anxious than ever before. This is because we live under the pressure of endless competition.
It’s not uncommon for a coworker you thought was on your side to turn into an enemy overnight due to competition. This leaves modern people suffering from loneliness and anxiety. Competition may give us short-term gains, but in the long run, we realize that we are left with nothing but psychological alienation.
So how can we overcome this alienation and live joyfully at work and in life? The answer is simple.
It’s communication.
Do you know what the difference is between cooperation and competition?
It’s the presence or absence of communication. The presence or absence of communication makes a huge difference in how you relate to your coworkers.
Does the alternative of communication sound too mundane?
But how much do you practice this commonplace answer in your daily life? When you try to communicate, you’ll realize that it’s not easy.
These self-development talks cover a wide range of topics and themes.
But at the root of all of them is a focus on communication.
What do you think happiness is?
Is it money, fame, or a comfortable retirement?
I would define happiness as not being lonely, not being marginalized, and living an exciting life consistently.
Communication enables a life of excitement.
Don’t you want to live a breezy, fresh life, not isolated?
Connect.
It’s the most basic thing you can do, but it’s also the most important and obvious thing you can do.
We hope this personal development program will inspire you to start connecting with your family, friends, and coworkers.
Thank you.
Instructor at a personal development talk 3-minute speech example 20
Hello, everyone.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you who have joined us for the Personal Development Lecture.
I’m ○○○, your instructor for today’s talk.
When you hear the word “personal development,” it can feel vague.
That’s because there are so many directions that development can go.
What I’m going to talk about today is not a specific development direction or a detailed plan.
Instead, I’m going to talk about the mindset you need to have before you start developing yourself.
What is self-development?
Simply put, it’s about developing your abilities to reach your goals.
But what’s important is the criteria you use to set those goals.
Where does that criteria come from? What are they built on?
Do you know the movie “Barton Fink”?
It’s one of the Coen brothers’ movies, better known as “No Country for Old Men.”
The movie tells the story of an up-and-coming writer named Barton Pink.
Mr. Pink is a writer who begins to gain fame after the success of one of his plays.
His name appears in the newspapers, he’s approached by several production companies, and he eventually lands a job at a prestigious movie studio in Hollywood.
There, Pink was assigned a screenplay for a popular wrestling movie.
But he had no interest in wrestling, nor did he know much about it.
Eventually, while working on the screenplay, Pink finds himself deeply conflicted.
To get out of this conflict, he decides to write the story he really wanted to write.
Instead of making a wrestling movie, he wrote a story about people fighting against themselves.
However, the producers were very disappointed when they received a movie that was not at all what they expected,
and Pink is fired from the studio.
What’s interesting is the look on Pink’s face as he leaves the studio.
He walks out of the company with a look of contentment, unlike his past, which was filled with conflict and worry.
What can we take away from this movie?
How should we set goals when it comes to self-development?
From the autobiography of a celebrity? From the advice of a wise person?
Of course, these resources can be helpful.
But the first step to self-development is to listen to your heart.
“What kind of person do I want to be?”
“What do I truly want?”
Any development you start without answering these questions is likely to end up unsatisfying.
What do you truly want?
What are your desires and dreams?
This is where self-development begins.
Listen to your own heart.
Appreciate it.
