Inaugural speech for a local senior citizen president

It’s spring, the time of year when everything comes alive.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you, the members, for allowing me the honor of serving you during this beautiful time of year.
Standing in this position, I promise to work for you with a great sense of duty and dedication.
Our society is gradually entering an aging society.
It is said that the more developed a country becomes, the more the number of elderly people increases. Korea, too, is experiencing a dramatic increase in life expectancy and a rapidly growing number of healthy older generations.
However, the current level of welfare and social status of the elderly is still inadequate.
In particular, the reemployment placement system for the elderly is very weak, leaving many seniors in the unfortunate situation of being treated as if they are useless. Beyond individual misery, this is leading to societal losses.
A recent study found that seniors who are working are more than twice as happy as those who are not.
This makes sense. Regardless of age, the most important thing in a person’s life is to feel valued and needed.
Nevertheless, the reality that the older population is sinking into helplessness and self-pity is something that must be addressed.
As President of Seniors, and as a fellow senior, I pledge to do my best to address the issue of senior reemployment.
In doing so, we will work to ensure that seniors are no longer seen as a “dying breed,” but as confident and dignified members of society.
If young people have ambition and passion, our elders have age and wisdom.
Old age has long been considered a symbol of wisdom. The experience and know-how we have accumulated in the field are valuable assets that we can contribute to society, and I am confident that these contributions will ease the problem of conflict between generations.
“Man is not born to be pitied, but to be respected,” said the famous writer Goriki.
This year, I will use this quote as a goal for my activism.
I will take the lead in creating a society where the elderly are respected for their wisdom and experience, rather than being forced to honor or seek pity.
To this end, I will actively work to improve the status of the elderly, expand their welfare, and support their self-realization.
We will also strengthen cooperation and collaboration with various organizations, and most importantly, we will focus on innovation within the senior councils themselves.
With hard work and dedication, we will create a transformative Elderly Citizens’ Association.
Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for your support, and I ask for your interest and encouragement in our future activities.
Thank you for listening.

Inauguration Ceremony Inaugural Message from Dong Representative Dong of the Residents’ Autonomy Committee

Good morning, everyone.
The cold weather is continuing, drowning out the midday sun.
It is easy to catch a cold in such cold weather. If you are overworked, stressed, and have a low immune system, you can easily be taken over by cold viruses that are waiting for an opportunity.
I remember living with colds since I was a kid. I remember being very feverish and having a swollen throat, but pushing through it. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that colds seem to be so persistent and come in so many varieties. In fact, maybe they’re not just a disease, but nature’s way of warning us to take stock of our lifestyle and health. The best way to combat this multi-pronged attack is to dress warmly and don’t skip breakfast, which is often skipped for a variety of reasons, but it’s the best fuel to get you through the day.
We hope residents are taking care of their health as well. A healthy body is the first step to being able to fulfill our roles as members of the community.
I’m ○○○, the newly appointed deputy councilor.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the apartment residents and staff for braving the cold weather to be here. I feel incredibly responsible and excited to take this opportunity to work with you to build a better apartment community.
In fact, I couldn’t sleep last night in anticipation of today’s inauguration ceremony because, while I can’t match the caliber of those who have served before me, I am committed to reducing the inconveniences you may have experienced and creating a better living environment.
This year, we, the Neighborhood Council, want to turn a new page.
What innovative and forward-thinking ways we can do this is something we will continue to explore. Of course, we don’t need to do away with the old ways, but we do know that we need to regain the trust of our residents and make a difference that they can truly feel through more transparent operations.
Folks, in his book, The Wisdom of Management, Liu Kuo-Lung had this to say about crisis
“Crisis is the shadow of comfort.
Where there is comfort, there is always a crisis lurking.
The absence of crisis awareness is the greatest crisis.
Crisis is universal and objective.
Crisis is universal and objective, and when you are not aware of it, it will slowly emerge.
The smallest thing will grow bigger and bigger and bigger until it becomes a disaster.”
This sentence reminds us of the attitude we should have towards our communities. A small inconvenience in an apartment, a subtle waste of budget, or a lack of communication between residents can all add up to a big problem one day, and that’s why we need to start thinking about and solving these small problems together now.
I think this is our challenge for the coming year: to wake up with a sense of urgency and work towards a better apartment living culture. Inaction and complacency without making any changes may eventually lead to the sinking of our communities. It’s time to break out of this inertia and actively seek change.
My goal as your co-owner is not just to solve problems, but to create a welcoming community where everyone grows and develops together, based on communication and participation. Each and every one of you has a voice in shaping the future of our apartment building.
We hope you’ll join us as we move forward with the right amount of excitement.
We wish you a happy holiday season and hope to see you again in the new year, healthy and bright.
Thank you.

Middle School Principal’s Inaugural Address

Good morning, everyone.
My name is Mr. ○○○, and I am the new principal of ○○○ Middle School.
I feel a heavy weight on my shoulders to be welcomed by so many students and parents.
As always, I will repay your support with my passion for a better environment.
Today’s ceremony also marks a new beginning for me.
It is a great honor and a tremendous responsibility to be here and to play a role in helping our students nurture their dreams and shape their futures.
Our school aims to produce not just people who are good at studying, but people with the right character to lead society.
I have one goal in mind.
To enable students to be self-directed learners.
They decide their study strategies and learning support, study, and evaluate the results themselves.
Sounds hard, right?
Yes, it is.
Parents have already infiltrated the entire learning world, and there is a huge reliance on academics and tutoring, and they are terrified of doing anything on their own.
But I’m going to use this difficult journey as an opportunity rather than a fear.
Difficulties bring greater growth when overcome.
I want my students to have an attitude of autonomous learning.
Autonomous learning is one direction of self-directed learning.
But the way we organize independent study in schools now is not self-directed because teachers interfere.
We want students to be proactive students who can regulate their own learning and set boundaries without interference from others.
Self-directed learning doesn’t just mean studying on your own.
It involves the entire process of identifying one’s strengths and weaknesses, setting goals, and creating a plan to achieve them.
Throughout this process, students realize the value of learning for its own sake, and experience the rewards of personal growth.
And all of this will be enriched by collaboration among students and support from teachers.
Education is a hot topic and a hot potato in Korea.
It’s the future of Korea, so it’s something we can’t give up on.
The self-directed learning method will be a way for students to hone their academic skills without the need for tutoring, and to enjoy studying.
To enjoy studying while doing it.
It won’t be easy, but I’m going to try.
When you see small changes, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment, and those small changes will inspire you to change your study habits.
How many of us study for the sake of studying?
It’s been a long time since school was a hall of learning or a hall of university.
I assure you that my golden bell is not college.
I wish our parents would be open-minded enough to think of education as a lifelong endeavor and not just till university.
School is not just a place to learn subjects.
It should be a place where students collaborate with friends, experience failure, and gain the confidence to get back up again.
This is the space we create together, and it will be the place where your children will make memories and learn that will last a lifetime.
As we move forward, we will continue to refine and realize our goal of being a student-centered school.
We will continue to offer a variety of programs and support to ensure that each student is valued for who they are and can pursue their dreams.
Thank you for listening.
We will continue to think about it and make small changes that will make big waves in our schools.
Thank you.

New Board Member’s Inaugural Address

Good afternoon, everyone. This is the ○○th general meeting of shareholders.
I would like to thank the shareholders for coming to this meeting even though it is under construction.
I am Mr. ○○○, the new director of the company.
It has been ○○ years since our company was founded.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to our shareholders for their unwavering support and affection since the company’s inception.
It is thanks to your trust and support that our company has been able to grow and build a solid foundation for so many years.
I am now charged with the responsibility of building on that reputation and realizing an even bigger vision.
I will do my best not to be a nobody to the company’s reputation that has been built year after year.
I will realize management that is in line with your wishes and aspirations, and in doing so, I will help us to leap to even greater heights.
Since its inception, our company has grown steadily based on the management values of “customer first,” “responsible management,” and “innovation and sustainability.
I believe that maintaining and developing these values is the essence of my role.
In particular, I will take the initiative to seek innovative changes that are required by the changing market environment while safeguarding our existing traditions.
In doing so, I believe that transparency is the most important thing to ensure.
No matter how much profit we generate with our superior abilities, it cannot be recognized as a true achievement if we do not secure trust and transparency.
Our company has earned the trust of the market and our shareholders over the years.
I will do my best to further solidify this trust and ensure that all of our operations and management leave no doubt in the minds of our shareholders.
Your cooperation is the greatest driving force for the development of our company.
Shareholders are not just investors, but important partners who share in the management of the company and design its future together.
I am confident that your wisdom and insights will be invaluable as I design and execute our future.
In particular, we will maintain transparency and fairness in key decision-making processes and continue to build a bridge of trust with our shareholders through continuous communication.
With regard to our internal operations, we will work together with our employees to build internal strength, and externally, we will actively respond to changes in the market environment and seek new growth opportunities.
Our company already has a stable foundation, but taking a bigger leap forward requires innovative thinking and bold investments.
In this process, I will focus on realizing our mid- to long-term vision rather than short-term results.
Going forward, I will make a company-wide effort to make our company even more competitive.
In particular, I will seek new challenges centered on two pillars: digital transformation and sustainability.
As the market environment is rapidly changing, we will strengthen our ability to stay ahead of the curve and build on our unique strengths.
I will not accept this position merely as an honor.
It’s a responsibility, and I will always remember that I have a deep obligation to the company and our shareholders.
I promise to view myself as the company’s first servant and to always approach my work with humility, without arrogance or arrogance.
Finally, I would like to ask our shareholders for their support and advice so that our company can continue to move forward and make even greater leaps forward.
I will always listen to your voices, and together with you, our shareholders, we will write a new history.
With that, I would like to conclude my remarks, looking forward to a greater leap forward and a brilliant future for our company.
Thank you.

Inaugural Speech by the Chief of the Self-Defense Unit

Hello, everyone.
Today is an exciting day for our ○○-dong Neighborhood Watch, as we welcome the newest member of the Neighborhood Watch and look forward to further strengthening the safety and security of our neighborhood.
Currently, the police are doing their best to protect our community, but the unfortunate reality is that they cannot reach the closest, most vulnerable, and shadowy parts of our neighborhoods. We want to take this opportunity to thank our Neighborhood Watch members for their willingness to give of their time and effort in the name of protecting their families. Your passion and dedication will be the new hope for our neighborhoods.
Our neighborhoods are small societies in themselves.
Even if it’s not a big enough event to make the news, various issues are constantly happening. Recent youth brawls and a string of arsons are serious issues that we can’t take lightly, but they’re hard to pinpoint, and we’re always limited by the fact that we can’t patrol every neighborhood where they occur.
As we know, big wildfires usually start with small embers.
Just as extinguishing and disposing of each cigarette butt is the most effective way to stop a wildfire, prevention is more important than reacting to crime. It takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to repair the damage after the fact, but if we can find and remove the embers beforehand, we can prevent the damage from happening in the first place. Our Neighborhood Watch groups should be an invaluable asset to our communities, finding and removing those sparks before they happen.
We have a lot of work ahead of us, starting today.
From keeping the lights on at night, to making our neighborhoods safe and livable, to leading our youth on the right path, to preventing crime through diligent patrols, we have a lot to do. We trust that the sweat and hard work we put in every day will keep our families and neighborhoods safe, and serve as a strong foundation for community policing.
As natives of our neighborhoods, we pledge to be the light and salt that looks out for every nook and cranny, identifying and eliminating hazards.
Once again, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Neighborhood Watch members for joining us here today. We hope that today’s ceremony is the beginning of a brighter future for our neighborhoods.
Thank you for listening.

CEO’s Inaugural Message

Good morning, dear employees.
The weather is getting colder and colder. Although the day starts at the same time every day, the shorter days and the increasingly palpable chill in the air signal the arrival of winter. These changes remind us all of the passage of time. It’s a fact we often forget, but time is faster than any other asset, and if not managed properly, it can cause irreparable losses.
Today, I stand before you as the CEO of ○○ Asset Management.
Although my shoulders are heavy with great responsibility, I draw great strength and courage from the passion and determination of all of you in this room, and I am confident that together we can overcome any challenges.
What we do is more than just managing assets, we are dealing with our clients’ trust. As we are managing precious assets entrusted to us, even the smallest mistake can damage our reputation and jeopardize the future of the entire organization, which is why we must approach every moment of our work with utmost professionalism and responsibility.
Recently, the market has been volatile and the company is going through a difficult time. The company and all of us have been criticized for falling short of customer expectations, and while this has hurt us greatly, I believe it has also given us the opportunity to reflect on ourselves. It’s time to take a deep look at where we fell short and what we need to do better.
They say that a crisis is an opportunity.
If we use this challenge as a springboard to make changes and innovations, we will emerge as a stronger and more resilient organization, and I know that all of you here will rise to the challenge.
As they say, heroes rise from the ashes, and I am confident that together we can get our company back on track and lead it to greater heights. I look forward to working with you, communicating with you, and committing to you. I ask for your cooperation and commitment.
Thank you.

Principal’s Inauguration Principal’s Seasonal Greetings

Greetings to the faculty and staff of ○○ Middle School.
My name is Mr. ○○○, and I will be the sixth principal of ○○ Middle School on October 1st.
As the saying goes, “The beginning of anything is half the battle,” and today is a very meaningful and important moment for me. As we reflect on the meaning of the upcoming Gaecheon Festival, I hope that our school will become a place of learning and growth for the benefit of all, just like the founding ideology of Gojoseon, which is imbued with the spirit of the Hongik human being.
I believe in the importance of beginnings, and how we take the first step determines our direction. Together with the faculty and staff, I hope to create a positive and hopeful school. I am particularly fond of words with the character “red” in them. For example, words like ‘positive’, ‘proactive’, ‘autonomous’, ‘active’, and ‘educational’. In addition to these, today I want to emphasize the word “creative”.
I want students and staff to always be positive, proactive, autonomous, and active in their work. This attitude will make our school shine.
School is a place of learning. As the saying in Confucius’s Analects goes, “學而時習之不亦悅乎” (學而習之不亦悅乎), we should enjoy the joy of learning and sometimes mastering. I hope that you will experience the joy of learning through studying with your teachers, reviewing and practicing.
I also sincerely believe in the staff of our school, and I know that together with my predecessor, Principal ○○○, you have raised the quality of our school. Let’s continue to work together and create a happy and enjoyable workplace for everyone. Let’s create a school that you enjoy coming to work and a school that you want to stay at.
Happiness doesn’t come by itself, it’s something you create. So, students, live your life today and create your own happiness. If we work together, we can create a school culture of happiness.
I want both staff and students to be proactive and positive. Such an attitude will brighten the dark side of our school and make our school a desirable school and a happy school. I will lead the way.
I look forward to your support and cooperation, and thank you again. Thank you.

Inauguration Ceremony ○○ City Mayor’s Inaugural Address

Honorable citizens!
Today, I feel a great sense of responsibility to assume the important position of Mayor of ○○ City, and it is a great honor to stand here.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the citizens of ○○ for their trust and support during the past two terms of my administration, so that we can usher in a new era of hope and reform. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the distinguished guests, both domestic and foreign, who have taken time out of their busy schedules to grace this occasion.
Honorable citizens!
Woori ○○ City has long been a naturally blessed location, embracing the Han River and the West Sea, and is steeped in the history and tradition of a people who have been producing rice for 5,000 years in this bountiful land. It has been a center of economic and logistics power, thanks to its close proximity to the capital Seoul, international airports, and ports.
In order to lead the West Coast-centered era of the 21st century, our city has developed and implemented various plans to create a city that harmonizes nature and science, and a livable city where urban and rural areas coexist. However, behind the rapid development and growth has been the pain and suffering of the marginalized, and it is regrettable that these issues have been dealt with only through the logic of development at the grandiose level. I will now focus on listening to the voices of these people, resolving conflicts, and finding a path to harmony.
I will make resolving grievances a top priority during my term, and I will empower the heads of departments to take responsibility and authority for resolving grievances by going out into the field to see them through to the end. If the heads can’t resolve them, the director will, if the director can’t, the vice mayor will, and if that fails, I will go out into the field myself. I want to make it clear here that it is my administrative philosophy and belief to resolve issues to the satisfaction of citizens and stakeholders alike.
I once again ask for the participation and cooperation of citizens, and the interest and cooperation of relevant agencies and organizations. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend this meeting.
I wish you and all the citizens of ○○ good health and happiness, and I sincerely wish you great achievements in everything you do.
Thank you.

Mayor ○○’s inaugural speech

Dear City of ○○ family,
My name is ○○○, and today I am the new Mayor of ○○ City.
Two and a half years after the inauguration of the people’s government, we are at a critical juncture where we must continue to reform and take leaps forward. I am both honored and deeply responsible to be entrusted with the great responsibility of Mayor of ○○ at this critical time.
Only those with dreams can change the world.
Without a clear vision and goals for how we want to shape the future of our city, our policies will lose direction and our precious assets and potential will be recklessly squandered. But with a clear vision and hope, the possibilities of our city can blossom into reality.
Only the prepared can seize opportunities.
No matter how good the conditions are, if you are not prepared, you will not be able to capitalize on the opportunity. You will easily crumble at the slightest adversity. ○○ City has unlimited potential for development, but only for those who are ready to develop it. Only thorough preparation will ensure a bright future for ○○ City.
Only those who challenge can create hope.
Hope is a word based on challenge. It has no place in an environment of complacency or where everything is guaranteed. Hope is created on the road less traveled, in the midst of uncertainty.
I believe that as mayor, we need to understand our city more than anyone else and make informed and accurate judgments and decisions.
A person who is negligent in analyzing reality or negligent in self-development cannot be said to have the basic qualities of a public servant. As mayor, I will lead by example and make thorough preparations and efforts.
Honorable ○○City Hall family,
I ask for your generous cooperation and support so that I can faithfully fulfill my calling in this era. I will always listen to your voices, collect your opinions with an open mind, and never lose my attitude of asking and learning.
I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank you for your dedication and hard work, and I would like to conclude my inaugural address with this pledge.
Thank you.

Mayor ○○’s Inaugural Address

Honored and beloved citizens of ○○,
I am honored to stand before you today as the son of ○○, the son of ○○ who was chosen by the citizens of ○○.
I am deeply grateful for the support and faith you have shown me, despite my many shortcomings.
The city of ○○ has long been considered the periphery of Korea, but now it is ready to open a new era and leap to the center of the country.
Today’s choice is a great decision made by the courage and will of the citizens of ○○.
Now, together, we must become the protagonists at the center of history.
In order for us to become the protagonists, we must first take a look at ourselves and clearly define our future direction.
We will review the past 100 years of history, contemplate the future from where we are today, and forge a new path together with you, our citizens.
The most important thing for us to do this is to become one ○○ city.
No dream can be realized on a divided land.
I make a promise in front of you.
I will communicate with you in a humble manner.
I will do my best for ○○ City beyond political parties and ideologies.
I will strive to make ○○ City a city where all citizens are united, regardless of whether they support me or not.
If a united ○○ City is our hope,
If a united Gangwon Province is the hope of ○○ City,
let’s work together to realize that hope.
Everyone, please gather your hearts with a loud applause for our new beginning!
Dear citizens,
We are all on a long journey called life.
Amidst days of joy and sorrow, happiness is not just a personal desire, but a right of all.
I have set the goal of ○○ City as ‘Happy ○○ City’.
A happy ○○ City is a place where laughter and hope grow a little more in the lives of its citizens.
I will dedicate all of my passion and my life’s work to the happiness of our citizens.
To create a happy ○○ City, first and foremost,
I will be the mayor who creates jobs.
I’ve seen people waiting for work at the early morning labor market.
I remember the steps they took to get there without being called.
I’ve seen fathers changing out of their tattered clothes after a hard day’s work and going to see their families.
Jobs are more than just an economic issue, they are the most important factor that makes life worth living.
I will create more jobs and opportunities in ○○ City.
A city where young people can take on challenges with hope,
and a city where the elderly can live in peace.
Dear citizens,
There will come a day when ○○ City will stand at the center of history as the No. 1 place of happiness in Korea.
On that day, the names of the citizens of ○○ will be written down as the protagonists of this great challenge and change.
At that moment, I sincerely hope that I will be remembered as the mayor who dedicated himself to changing the destiny of ○○ City.
I am now ready to throw everything I have into responding to the choice of the citizens of ○○.
I would like to bow my head once again and thank the citizens of ○○ for believing in me despite my shortcomings.
I will do my best for the happiness of the citizens and the development of ○○ City.
Thank you.

Mayor’s inaugural speech

“I will create ○○, a city that puts people first.”
Honorable citizens of ○○!
I, ○○○, have just been inaugurated as the ○○th Mayor of ○○ with your trust and support, and I greet you with deep gratitude.
At this moment, my heart is full. I believe that this is not just an inauguration ceremony, but a sacred covenant ceremony where I share my love, trust, and hope with you, the citizens, and promise a new future together.
I am honored to be here with you, in this beautiful lake park. Amidst the flowers in full bloom, the calm waters of the lake, and the warm support of the citizens surrounding us, my heart is pounding like a new groom on his wedding day. Are you as excited as I am?
Today, I stand here as if I am tying the knot with my beloved spouse, and then tying the knot with you, the citizens.
I will love and respect you as I would my own family, and I will fulfill my role as the responsible head of the City of ○○ with integrity.
I will serve you as I would my parents, and I will lead the city government with all my heart.
The meaning of the slogan ‘We are the Mayor of ○○’
Dear citizens of ○○, who boast the highest civic consciousness in Korea,
Today’s slogan, ‘We are Mayor ○○,’ is a meaningful declaration that the city of ○○ has finally and completely returned to the bosom of its citizens.
This vast and beautiful lake park symbolizes the future of our citizens.
A promise to you
I would like to take this opportunity to make some clear promises to you.
First, we will create a ○○ city that puts people at the center.
We will move toward a city that invests in people, not a construction version of the city with apartments and buildings.
We will scrutinize the existing large-scale projects that are adding to the financial burden, and shift the budget to people.
We will make changes that citizens can feel that their quality of life has been substantially improved.
Second, we will create a warm community city without shady neighborhoods.
We will pay close attention to citizens from all walks of life, including the poor, the middle class, the elderly, and the disabled.
We will provide high-quality childcare facilities in every neighborhood so that parents can pursue their dreams with peace of mind.
In addition, we will immediately implement free meals for elementary and middle schools so that children can focus on their studies without discrimination.
We will realize an educational city where children and parents are happy, and a cultural city where all citizens enjoy rich culture.
Creating the future of ○○ City with you
Honorable citizens of ○○,
To realize all of these visions, I will make ‘Citizen First’ the guiding principle of city government.
All policies of ○○ City will reflect the opinions of its citizens first and foremost.
I declare this year as the Year of Citizen First, and I will fulfill my promise to citizens with policies and achievements.
Over the next four years, I will never forget your trust and prove that your choice was right.
I will not go it alone, I will walk with you.
In closing, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the distinguished guests and honorable citizens who have graced this occasion.
Thank you.

Mayor’s inaugural address

Honored and beloved citizens of ○○!
I sincerely thank you for your faith and love. And I stand here with a humble heart in front of your desire for change. From today, I am embarking on a new journey with a great responsibility as the ○○th Mayor of ○○. Rather than the joy of taking office, a sense of duty weighs heavily on my shoulders to dedicate myself to the lives of the citizens and the development of ○○.
I have traveled around the city and met many citizens, and their stories are united. The local economy has become increasingly difficult, house prices are falling, and jobs are scarce. The lives of ordinary people are becoming more and more difficult, and the poor quality of education, inconvenient transportation, and regional disparities are threatening the future of the city.
I would like to take a sobering look at this crisis in ○○. We can’t just blame external forces for the crisis; we also need to take responsibility for our inability to adapt to change by remaining complacent in our familiar ways. The responsibility for failing to create new growth engines is also not light. It is true that the challenges facing ○○ will not be easy to solve, and there are difficulties that cannot be overcome in a short period of time.
However, I am confident that together with you, the citizens, we will overcome this crisis, and we must. Now is the time for all of us to move forward with one mind to create a blessed and hopeful ○○. We must usher in a new era of opportunity and hope for all, despite the difficult circumstances.
It is time to end the era of confrontation, conflict, and chaos and usher in a new era of ○○, where everyone can play their part. Bipartisan cooperation across party lines will be a guiding force for the development of ○○.
We need to realize true local self-governance, where every citizen enjoys participating and shaping policy together. We must melt our dreams and ideals into the great melting pot that is ○○. Ad hoc, shallow responses will neither solve our current challenges nor prepare us for the future. We need more sophisticated strategy and execution.
To the citizens of ○○, who will always remind me of my roots!
There are many of you here today who are desperately longing for change and hope. Some of you are tired of the weight of your daily struggles, some of you are enduring painful days due to physical disabilities, and some of you are struggling with the abuse of public power.
It’s time to have faith and conviction that things can be different. Let’s break out of the cycle of despair and join me in a new era of hope and leapfrogging. This is the path we must take.
A proud future for ○○ will not be handed to us; our successful future is a journey that we must make. We have a lot of work to do, but we can’t do it alone. Only with you, our citizens, can we make policies and developments that benefit you.
Honorable ○○Citizens!
Please hold my hand.
The Promised Land ○○ will be the center of the Korean Peninsula and the envy of the world in the future. Let’s ignite the flame of hope here and move forward together to fulfill our dreams.
Thank you.

Mayor’s Inaugural Address

Honorable citizens of ○○!
And honored dignitaries and guests who are here today!
I stand here today as the mayor of ○○, with the will of the citizens who have made this city with the precious wish of “○○ where citizens are the owners”.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your enthusiastic support to open a new era in response to your expectations of change and leap forward.
Today is the day we take the historic first step toward “○○ where citizens own the city” and “○○ as a sustainable creative city.” As I take on the honor of being the fifth mayor of ○○, I feel both joy and great responsibility.
With the expectations of all of you who love and care about ○○ deeply in my heart, I will do my best to fulfill your wishes and expectations while leading the city government.
Based on the philosophy of “city government of the people, by the people, and for the people,” I will work with you to create a better future for ○○.
First, we will open up the future of transportation.
I will realize the “Subway Line 9 Extension” project as a top priority for the centenarians of ○○.
We have already been in close consultation with relevant organizations since shortly after my election and are preparing to move forward with the project. I will establish the “○○ Subway Construction Project Group” as soon as possible, and we will refine and implement the plan responsibly.
We will also reorganize our long-term transportation policy to focus on subways to create a convenient transportation system that is people-centered and commuter-friendly. ○○ We will achieve transportation innovation that all citizens can feel.
Second, we will carry out an administration that communicates with citizens.
Citizens are always at the center of city government. We will boldly improve outdated administrative practices that hinder communication with citizens.
We will move the mayor’s office to the first floor and make it an open space where citizens can visit anytime. We will listen to your voices directly and do our best to solve your problems with the mindset that “citizens are the mayor.”
Third, I will create a city of quality where education and culture come together.
As mayor, I will take responsibility for our children’s education, and I will ensure that no one leaves ○○ because of educational problems.
By establishing the “Five-Year Plan for the Development of Education in ○○ City,” I will strengthen public education, reduce the burden of private education costs, and greatly improve educational conditions.
We will also expand our cultural infrastructure and provide a variety of programs for all citizens to enjoy in order to grow into a city of culture and art.
Fourth, we will prioritize the environment and sustainability.
We need to create a clean natural environment and a sustainable city for future generations.
We will develop ○○ City into a leading carbon-neutral city and expand energy efficiency and eco-friendly transportation to protect the environment and revitalize the local economy at the same time.
Fifth, we will pursue win-win cooperation with the local economy.
We will revitalize local commercial districts and support small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-enterprises to become more competitive.
We will visit markets, listen to the stories of merchants, and resolve difficulties at industrial parks and business sites to create a better economic environment.
In addition, I will lay the foundation for the future growth of ○○ through the development of new cities and make it a city where all citizens can enjoy a better life.
Honorable citizens!
The municipal direction and promises I have outlined cannot be accomplished by me alone.
Your interest and participation, and the cooperation of related agencies and organizations, are absolutely necessary for the development of ○○ and the happiness of its citizens.
Mencius once said, “If I get the will, I go with the people; if I don’t get the will, I go alone.”
I will always be a “mayor who breathes with the people and moves forward with the people”.
I will share the sighs of market vendors and warmly hold the hands of farmers with dirt on them.
I will listen to the difficulties of companies in industrial parks and take the lead in smoothing out the wrinkles of the common people.
Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the citizens who have made me stand here today.
May your homes and everything you do always be filled with happiness and hope.
Thank you.

Meeting Time Team Leader Season’s Greetings

Good morning, everyone.
I’m ○○○, the new team leader of the Technology Development Team 1. First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for welcoming me. I’m very excited to be in a new environment with new faces, but I also feel a great deal of responsibility.
As I stand here at this moment, a question is running through my mind. “What can I add to this team right now?” I can tell by the look on your faces that you already have a lot of expectations and a little bit of anxiety, and I completely understand that feeling. New beginnings always bring excitement and pressure.
In fact, if it was the beginning of the year, you and I might have greeted it with a little more energy and hopeful plans, but here we are, racing toward the end of the year. As the calendar turns down another page, the goals and plans we wrote down in our diaries fade away, and the weight of reality takes over. As a result, as I sit here today, I see a little weariness and guidance in your faces.
My friends, you can start anytime.
It could be today, tomorrow, or even right now. The important thing is that you have a “can do” attitude. I want us to live every day like it’s a new day of challenges, not a day of time. Even if it’s the end of the year, I believe that our team’s progress and your personal growth can always begin.
The word I want to share with you today is conversation.
I believe the answers to all problems come from conversations: conversations with family, conversations with friends, conversations with coworkers, and even conversations with plants. What we gain from conversations is more than just exchanging information. We can understand each other’s thoughts, close gaps in our perspectives, and discover possibilities to move forward together for the better.
I’ve heard that there have been some areas of the relationship between my predecessor and you that have been lacking in conversation, and that’s something I think our team needs to address going forward, so today I’m going to open the conversation with you.
I want to make a little commitment here.
After today, I’m going to be meeting with each of you one-on-one. Don’t worry, this is not only a way for me to get to know you, but it’s also an opportunity for me to hear honestly about any challenges you’ve had in your work or things you’d like to see improved. We’re often too busy watching each other’s backs at work to speak our minds, and a personal interview will be a place where we can talk without judgment.
We all know that some of the biggest problems in our social lives stem from a lack of communication. Whether at work or at home, issues that could be easily resolved with an open and honest conversation are often compounded by a lack of communication. I sincerely hope that this doesn’t happen on our team.
Teamwork, my friends, starts with communication.
To work effectively, we need a camaraderie that truly understands each other. That foundation is built on conversations, and authentic conversations build trust. This trust will help us perform better at our jobs, which in turn will help us grow as individuals.
Finally, as your team leader, I have a small challenge for you.
Set a small goal to make one positive change in your own organization, and share it with your teammates so that you can encourage and support each other and watch your team change little by little.
We hope you’ll join us on this new journey.
We look forward to talking with you, growing with you, and becoming better as a team. Thank you.

Inaugural speech by the Mayor of ○○ City

Honored citizens of ○○, dignitaries and guests, and the more than 2,000 ○○ city officials who will join me in the coming days!
I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support you gave me during this election, and I am honored to be in this position. I have taken a solemn oath to serve as the first civilian mayor of the City of ○○, to fulfill the calling you have given me.
While I am personally very happy to be here today, it is also a position of great responsibility and a sense of duty that weighs heavily on my shoulders. I would like to take this opportunity to confess that the enthusiasm and interest shown by the citizens during the last election process has strengthened my resolve. I promise to do everything in my power to fulfill your expectations.
Resolve for a New Leap Forward
However, I, along with 2,000 ○○ city officials, will accept the will of the citizens and strive to make a new leap forward and improve the quality of life of the citizens through the spirit of the 4th and 5th administrations and the boundless ○○ love. The challenges and issues that our city is facing are realities that we can no longer ignore. I intend to use this as a starting point for change and opportunity.
Honorable citizens of ○○!
My hometown of ○○ has long been known for its numerical splendor and abundance, and having been born and raised here, I know better than anyone the history and traditions of this city and the unlimited possibilities of its citizens. As the center of the southern metropolitan area with unlimited growth potential and vitality, we are at a point in time when we need to reshape our city’s character and identity to keep up with the times.
However, years of development-oriented policies have left us with underdevelopment and sprawl between the east and west, which has led to deepening regional disparities across all sectors, including housing, education, healthcare, and culture, and has brought us to the reality of a crisis in the middle class and pressure on local finances, which are critical challenges that we must address together. I believe that all of these crises stem from a loveless, one-size-fits-all development policy and philosophy.
People-centered administration, a new vision
Now, I will move away from the one-size-fits-all policy of development and make our city of ○○ a “happy ○○ together” where all citizens can laugh out loud through “people-centered participatory administration.
I will work with citizens to pave the way for balanced development and fair growth of the city. To this end, I will focus on the following points.
First, we will establish a specialized development strategy to bridge the gap between regions: the eastern region will actively promote tourism capitalization projects using the natural environment and cultural heritage, while the western region will create new jobs through the creation of smart cities and high-tech industrial complexes.
Second, we will further expand citizen-participatory public administration. We will increase the transparency and fairness of the budget by introducing a citizen-participatory budget system that allows citizens to participate directly from the beginning of budgeting. We will also communicate with citizens in the process of public projects and reflect their voices in policies.
Third, we will pursue development that considers the environment and sustainability. We will preserve the beautiful nature and environment of ○○ City and expand eco-friendly infrastructure to leave a better environment for future generations.
Family and gratitude
In closing, I would like to extend a special thanks to my precious family who have supported me throughout this entire process. I would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you and I love you’ to my beloved wife and family who have supported and cheered me on through many setbacks. Without their dedication and faith, I would not be where I am today.
Once again, I would like to wish all of our dignitaries and citizens good health and happiness, and I will do my best to ensure that I and the officials of the City of ○○ live up to your expectations in the coming term. The future of ○○ City is bright, and I look forward to building that future with you.
Thank you.

Inaugural remarks by the Chairman of the Child Food Service Commission

Good afternoon, everyone.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the guests who have taken the trouble to come today and to the members who have always given me their support and encouragement.
This is not so much an honor for me as it is a celebration of the values and accomplishments we have all made together and a renewal of our vision.
The burden of the Meals Committee is far greater than we realize.
The precious children who are the pillars and future of our country,
children who should be smiling and dreaming big dreams, are unable to eat even one meal because of poverty.
Poverty is more than just hunger; it stunts their growth and health, and robs them of the ability to fulfill their dreams. We must never turn a blind eye to the reality of these children.
Nevertheless, the early feeding committees had to face many challenges. The committee was not functioning properly, which resulted in no achievements in the feeding program and no support for the children. But even in the midst of the crisis, the effort to make a difference continued.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the past ○○○ chairpersons and senior members, the feeding committee was finally able to begin constructive discussions and take the first steps towards providing the children with the support they needed. It was your passion and love that opened the floodgates.
Thanks to your hard work and dedication, children from low-income and basic needs families are now able to go to school with a full stomach and at least a decent meal.
But we can’t stop there.
Today, I pledge to take that spirit of love even further and ensure that our support continues during the school holidays.
We must change the reality that school vacations, which are eagerly anticipated by most children, can be a scary and sad time for those who are hungry. This year, we will focus all of our efforts on breakthroughs in the feeding program.
Some people have suggested that I forget about the seriousness of the problem of hungry children and prioritize other projects or projects that revitalize local economies. Of course, local economic development is important. But none of that is truly meaningful if children can’t even ensure their basic survival.
Folks, the children growing up in every corner of our region are the future of our region.
A city whose children are not happy, a city whose children are crying from hunger, will never be a developed city.
That’s why feeding children is not just a humanitarian endeavor.
It’s an investment in the future, and a measure of a community’s well-being.
When our efforts help put smiles back on more children’s faces, this city will move toward a brighter future.
Along with my love for children, I love and care about our city of ○○.
That’s why I will do everything I can for the development of the city.
I will do my best to uphold and develop the values of the Feeding Committee so that we can become a city where child welfare is realized, an advanced and humane city.
In addition, I will also strengthen cooperation with various community organizations to build a sustainable welfare system.
Honorable Members,
All of these goals cannot be achieved by my efforts alone.
It is only possible if we all put our minds together and work together.
I ask you to help me, and I ask you to help the Feeding Committee become a ray of sunshine for the children in the shadows.
Happiness to the children,
and quality development for the city!
I sincerely hope that today will be the prelude to that energizing new beginning.
I would like to conclude my inaugural speech by praying for the health and happiness of all those present, and looking forward to the further development of ○○ City together.
Thank you.

Mayor’s Inauguration Mayor’s Inaugural Address

Good afternoon, everyone.
Thank you, citizens, for giving me this honor today,
I thank you and honor you.
I have given much thought to this position, for I have come to realize that it is not just a position of honor and responsibility, but one that carries the weight of the lives of each and every one of our citizens. Being mayor is not just an administrative role; it is a promise and a commitment to make your hopes and expectations a reality. As I stand here today, I am reminded that this position is not one that can be earned, but one that must be served.
I know that everything that is given to me today is for you.
I know that I am only a temporary replacement for your dirty work.
But I also know that that time is never too short, and during that time, I have an obligation to bring about the changes you want, to meet your expectations, and most importantly, to run a city you can trust.
Every time I read “Wonmok” by Dr. Yak Yong Jung, I get a chill down my spine.
I pulled it out again this morning and read it,
more than any other passage, the phrase that rulers exist for the sake of the people thunders.
I am reminded again today that I, and all of us in public service, are to be at your service, to enrich your lives, that’s why we exist.
When you chose me as your new mayor, you must have had certain expectations. Whether you wanted better welfare, more convenient transportation, or a safer living environment, they all come together. They all ask for a happier ○○ city. I will take this desire to heart, and I will unfold my city government based solely on the happiness of the citizens.
In front of all of you gathered here, I vow to live for the city from this day forward.
I vow to be a mayor ○○○ before I am a man ○○○.
There was a line in the eulogy of a president once upon a time that went something like this.
“God, forgive us for being human ○○○.”
It’s a poignant, true statement.
But I read a single truth here.
That I, as a natural person, can be forgiven, but the sins of Mayor ○○○, the negligence of Mayor ○○○, can never be forgiven.
Forgiving humans is clearly the domain of God.
But it is in your power to condemn a politician, to condemn a mayor.
Citizens, I want to say this.
This position I have been given is not one that I can succeed in simply by doing a good job on my own.
No matter how hard I and my officials work, we can’t do it without you, the citizens.
We need your voices.
I need to hear about the issues you face, the frustrations you have, or even the smallest idea you have.
I believe communication is the foundation of healthy government.
So today, I’m laying everything I have at your feet.
So please keep an eye on me, everyone.
I will always try, but when I, your servant, am lazy or arrogant in your eyes.
I hope you will always raise your whip high to rebuke and remind me.
Thus, four years later,
I hope that you will join me in saying that electing ○○○ was indeed a choice without regret.
My fellow citizens, I and all of our public servants will work day and night over the next four years to build the city of your dreams.
We will make the best use of our resources and capabilities to build a better city.
It is my mission to make your lives more comfortable, happier, and more hope-filled.
You, the owners of the city of ○○, are my owners.
For choosing me,
and for taking time out of your busy schedule to be here,
I am grateful and thankful once again.
That’s all I have to say, so please enjoy this small gathering.

○○Inaugural speech by the club president

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to attend the inauguration of the new and old presidents of the ○○ Club. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to President ○○○, Mr. ○○○, and all the past presidents of our club, including Mr. ○○○, for being here today. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you, our members, for your continued support.
The upcoming year 20○○ will mark the 50th anniversary of our club, and I am honored and humbled to take on the role of President during this momentous occasion. Over the past 50 years, our club has grown and contributed to the community in ways big and small, and I believe it is up to me and you to continue to build on this proud legacy and make it even better.
We are an organization that values service above all else. We exist to help those in need, and our members are the ones who come together with the desire to help those in need, but I want our club to be a place that goes beyond service and explores the essential meaning of life.
Recently, I’ve been wondering if service in our clubs is sometimes done out of habit, where repetitive service activities lose their conscious meaning and feel like a mere routine. Of course, it’s great that we continue to serve, even out of habit. But I want our members to go beyond that. I believe the true value of our club is in finding joy and purpose in life through service.
This is what I want to focus on most as I begin my term as president. We need to be people whose eyes are opened to the world through service and who realize a deeper meaning of life. I want service to be more than just an act of helping, but an important driving force in our lives, and even a standard by which we conduct ourselves.
I would also like to further promote socialization among the members of our club. I believe that it is important for us to understand and help each other before we can help others. Only when we have strong trust and friendship among our members can our outreach to the outside world be more authentic and sustainable. Let’s build a club where we can share in each other’s joys and overcome difficulties together.
Dear Members,
It is thanks to the dedication of our senior members and all of us that our club has been able to operate without major problems for the past 50 years. Now we are at a point where we need to prepare for the next 50 years. Let’s work together to ensure that our club continues to be a trusted organization in the community with heartfelt service and strong bonds between members.
In closing, may the coming year be a year of happiness and fulfillment for our club and all of our members. I would like to thank you once again for entrusting me with the honor of serving as your president, and I look forward to your continued encouragement and support. Yours sincerely.
