Meeting time President’s seasonal greeting
Good morning, everyone, and good morning to you.
You know how you wake up for work these days and the sun isn’t up yet? The dark sky somehow makes you feel even more lazy. Time flies. Summer and even fall have already passed, and winter is coming. While we can still enjoy the warmth of the sun in the middle of the day, it seems like there are fewer and fewer hours to enjoy it. That’s because sometimes the sun is warm, but the wind and air are cold, and the warmth doesn’t transfer.
So, just like that, time is moving fast, and we have to move fast with the flow of time, and you’re not living in the present, you’re living in the past, and there are so many people who are trying to follow the trail of how things have been done in the past to make things easier this time, but that’s not what I want. I think we should always be looking for new things. Of course, the old ways of doing things have the advantage of not having to go through trial and error, but they also have the disadvantage of making us want to stay in the past instead of looking for new things. People who walk with their backs to the wall are prone to stumbling over even the smallest rock. I want you to look straight ahead and not stumble.
Before I begin, I want to share with you the values I hold most dear in working with you: change and innovation. Change can be uncomfortable, but it’s the most powerful force for breaking through stagnation and moving forward. Innovation improves the way things are done and points us in new directions. I want you to create an organizational culture that is not afraid to try both of these things.
I am ○○○, the new president of ○○ Education, a learning paper company.
I am honored to be the CEO of ○○ Education after such a great person as Mr. ○○○, and I feel a sense of mission to build this company into a really good company.
When I traveled to China on a business trip a few years ago, I saw a building being demolished and people were removing bricks by hand, one by one, so that they could recycle them. In Korea, no matter how good a building is, when they demolish it, they just smash it with a forklift. Then I realized that in some countries, used bricks are more expensive than human labor, and in some countries, human labor is more expensive. So what is the source of power that made the difference?
I would say it’s education, which is like a driving force that makes people do activities that are more valuable than used bricks.
Education is more than just imparting information, it’s about unlocking people’s potential and empowering them to find a better path for themselves. That’s why education is at the core of our company’s values. The goal of education is not just to provide learning content; it’s to give students, teachers, and parents alike the tools and vision to build a better future. You are our partners in realizing this vision together, and you are the key players in shaping this company.
I think we’re going to have to look at, “How can we add a little bit more value to what we’re doing now,” and I think we’re going to have to do that by putting more human effort into the process, and I think we’re going to have a lot of conversations with you about how to get there.
As we set new goals and move in the right direction, I want to emphasize collaboration and communication. Every great achievement can’t be made in isolation – it requires organic collaboration and accountability within the organization, and communication is an indispensable tool to make it happen. Please don’t hesitate to share your feelings, suggestions for improvement, and ideas you’d like to contribute.
We look forward to your continued cooperation, and we hope you’ll stay focused on your work.
Thank you.
President’s Inaugural Address
Honored guests and distinguished guests,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend my inauguration. It is with great honor and great responsibility that I stand here today to take over as President of the Association.
The ○○ City Taekwondo Association for the Disabled is taking its first step today to instill hope in people with disabilities, who are considered the weakest in our society, and to inspire their confidence that they can do anything.
I would like to ask for your warm interest, encouragement and support so that the association can grow and develop. As the president, I promise to do my best to help Para Taekwondo athletes achieve higher levels of performance and excellence. I sincerely hope that today’s meeting will serve as a valuable foundation for the successful development of the ○○ City Para Taekwondo Association.
Distinguished guests at home and abroad,
“People with disabilities practice taekwondo.” This may sound impossible, given the social prejudice that considers people with disabilities to be physically weak and incompetent. However, as the abilities of people with disabilities are newly recognized at various sporting events such as the Paralympics and the World Para Games, the barriers to participation in sports are gradually being broken down.
Taekwondo is also a sport that can be practiced by people with disabilities, with the only difference being the time and method of learning. In fact, for people with disabilities who have physical, mental, or behavioral limitations that prevent them from participating in regular sports, taekwondo can be a great way to improve not only their physical health, but also their mental discipline.
We will promote taekwondo in accordance with the characteristics and abilities of people with disabilities and provide them with opportunities to develop strength, body balance, speed, and endurance. By doing so, we will prevent diseases caused by physical imbalance and lack of exercise due to disability and cultivate self-defense skills to protect themselves. We will also continue to support people with disabilities to live as healthy members of society alongside people without disabilities.
We will strive to create a society where everyone shares hope together, based on the values of respect for life and love for one another. With your generous support and patronage, the Korea Taekwondo Association for the Disabled will live up to its beliefs and grow.
Lastly, I would like to wish all the guests of honor and dignitaries who have graced us with their presence here today, good health and happiness in their homes.
Thank you very much.
Inaugural Speech by the President of the North Korean Defector Support Organization
Good evening, everyone.
As our organization celebrates its 10th anniversary, I, the newly elected president of the organization, am overwhelmed with a heavy sense of responsibility.
Ten years is a long time to change. This is why we are still faced with the challenges of insufficient institutional support and awareness that have remained unaddressed until this time, when the mountain has changed many times over. But despite all the challenges, it is thanks to our seniors and your dedication that our organization is where it is today, and it is my responsibility to carry on all their hard work and passion and move forward.
There was a time when North Korea was perceived as our main enemy, but as human rights consciousness in Korea gradually developed and compatriotism came to the fore, organizations like ours began to be established, declaring their support and protection of the human rights of North Korean defectors. It was also around that time that there was a movement in society to sympathize with the suffering of North Korean defectors and provide practical help.
Looking back, we can see that we have achieved a lot over the years. Our organizations have been able to save North Koreans from being trafficked at a time when human trafficking of North Koreans was becoming commonplace, and we have been able to bring the issue of North Korean human rights to the forefront of the public discourse.
Throughout this process, we didn’t just raise awareness of the issue; we put our heads together with various stakeholders to institutionalize and settle the policy, and went through countless discussions and negotiations. As a result, we were able to establish various support programs to help North Korean defectors with their social rights and resettlement. But it’s too early to be satisfied.
We still have a long way to go as an organization. While humanitarian assistance to North Korean defectors has been provided to some extent, we are far from treating and supporting them as true citizens of the Republic of Korea. Ladies and gentlemen, as stated in Article 1 of the Constitution, the Republic of Korea refers to the entire Korean Peninsula, and the people of North Korea are also citizens of the Republic of Korea. We believe that practical support should be provided to North Korean defectors so that they can become self-reliant, achieve self-actualization, and create their own lives.
In particular, North Korean defectors have the potential to play an important role in shaping the future of the Korean Peninsula, not just adapting to a new environment. Their experiences and stories are invaluable assets for the integration and development of our society. To make this potential a reality, we need to develop more systematic and sustainable policies and programs.
Practical assistance will have to be implemented during my term of office. We will have to address the difficulty of finding employment for North Korean defectors by coordinating with the authorities and local labor and employment centers. We will have to expand their educational opportunities and strengthen their vocational skills. Compassion and compatriotism are not enough to make them truly self-reliant.
It’s only a stopgap measure to keep them fed for now. It’s time to move beyond compassion and create a system that recognizes and supports North Koreans as true citizens of South Korea. To do this, we need to build trust and understanding between North Koreans and the general public. Through cultural exchanges, joint projects, educational campaigns, and more, we need to help North Koreans integrate into our society.
We need your help in this process. I hope that you, who have firm convictions and courage on human rights issues, will help me and contribute to the realization of their welfare. For the sake of our countrymen, let us continue to work hard.
That’s all from me, thank you for listening.
Inaugural Address by the President of the Association
Honorable members, distinguished guests, and dignitaries!
It is said that if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.
Today, as I am inaugurated as the ○th President of the Association, I am deeply honored and grateful to be able to lead the Association together with you in a majestic way. I join hands with you and solemnly declare that I will faithfully fulfill my duties as President for the next three years.
Honorable members and distinguished guests!
As I watched the Japanese people’s mature citizenship in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of envy for the beautiful way they maintained order. Their calmness in the midst of the catastrophe caused by the earthquake was a model for all mankind.
I believe that the first step for us, ○○Kai, to become an advanced organization is to maintain order and adhere to principles to the point of stubbornness. Unity is a precious thing that creates dynamic energy.
New challenges and opportunities lie ahead of us. Today, the beauty industry is no longer just about looking good, but is becoming an important industry that promotes well-being, healing, and quality of life. K-beauty, which has attracted the attention of the world, is the precious fruit of our challenging spirit and creativity. However, we must not be satisfied or complacent with our current achievements. Change is an opportunity, and in order to seize it and make a bigger leap forward, we will have to constantly innovate and grow ourselves.
Honorable Members!
While the government is taking the lead in promoting the beauty industry, we, the ○○ Association, who should be at the center of it, are not only being pushed to the margins by the conflicts, but we are also experiencing the painful failure of being marginalized from an important part of the industry.
In order to properly revive the struggling beauty industry, it is imperative that we establish our status as a policy-leading organization from now on. We must all work together to ensure that the beauty industry is not just one of the many industries within the broader field of the beauty industry, but a central industry that the government should fully support and encourage.
As President, I will make it my top priority to put our organization back on the right track, and I will do so with all my heart, so that you can all be proud and confident in your membership.
Imagine the value of our efforts. When we bring together the wisdom and passion of each and every one of our members, we can do more than just grow our organization, we can positively impact society as a whole. From small businesses to large corporations, we will contribute to creating an ecosystem where everyone in the beauty industry can live and prosper together. This, we believe, is the true role of our organization and our vision for the future.
There is a saying, “Dangrangjaehoo”. It comes from the saying that the mantis was so focused on peeking at the cicada that he didn’t realize the sparrow was peeking at him, and it refers to being so focused on the benefits in front of you that you don’t realize the danger behind you.
This is when we need to take the long view. The foolishness of chasing small gains and forgetting that big dangers are out there waiting for us is over.
Let’s do everything in our power to save the industry, to make it rewarding and fulfilling for our hairdressers, and to make it a contributor to the economic growth of our country.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all of you. All of you who have elected me as the central chairman three times, and who have given me such an emotional and honorable inauguration ceremony, like today, are my benefactors and unforgettable people. I will always be grateful to you, and I will always cherish you in my heart.
In closing, I would like to wish you all the best of luck in your families and prosperity in your businesses. Thank you.
Fire Captain’s Inaugural Speech
Hello, everyone.
I’m Fire Chief ○○○ of ○○ Fire Station. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the firefighters and local residents for being here today. It is a great honor and a great responsibility for me to stand with you at this momentous occasion to mark a new beginning.
First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the firefighters for working together “energized and motivated” for the safety and development of the region under difficult conditions. Your dedication and passion are the greatest asset of this community and the cornerstone of its safety. I would also like to express my gratitude to all of you for giving me this honorable opportunity today.
Honorable firefighters and community members!
Firefighting is not just a job, it is a noble mission to protect lives and safety. As I stand here today, I promise you that we will do our best to fulfill our most important value – the safety of our community and its residents.
Our job is not just to put out fires or respond to disasters. It is to prevent all risks in advance, to respond faster than anyone else in a crisis, and to see our residents’ lives stabilize after a disaster. To that end, I will do the following things together.
First, strengthen communication and cooperation with local residents.
Firefighting cannot be effective without the trust and cooperation of local residents, and we will continue to communicate with them to share the importance of disaster prevention and safety management, and to develop practical disaster prevention measures together.
Second, we will enhance the professionalism and capacity of firefighters.
To respond to the changing disaster environment, we as firefighters must continue to learn and grow. We will continue to acquire specialized knowledge, train, and strengthen our capabilities to protect our communities.
Third, building a compassionate fire service organizational culture based on the spirit of service.
Our firefighters are true volunteers who share the pain of their communities. We need to create a fire brigade that is not just about solving disasters, but also about relieving the suffering of neighbors with a warm heart.
Today, our society is facing new challenges in a rapidly changing environment. Advances in digital technology, the rise of mega-disasters due to climate change, and complex crises are all on the horizon. To adapt to these changes and be proactive, we need an open mind and continuous self-improvement.
The future belongs to those who prepare. The steps we take today will inevitably pay off in the future. Firefighters, cooperation and unity are the most important values of our organization. We must do our best in our individual roles, but we must also work together as a team and solve all problems together.
I recognize that it is not my individual abilities that have brought me to this position, but the faith and support of all of you. I feel a heavy burden on my shoulders as a captain, but I promise to always do my best to fulfill that responsibility. I never believe that I can do it all alone, and I will be a captain who will work with you, grow with you, and achieve our goals together.
In closing, I would like to thank you all again for joining us today and wish you and your families all the best in health and happiness. We look forward to your continued support and cooperation, and hope that you will join us on our journey towards our common goal of creating a safe and welcoming community.
Thank you.
Inaugural speech from the President of the Affinity Club
Hello, dear members!
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our guests and members for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the inauguration of the ○○ presidency of the Affinity Club.
First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to outgoing President ○○○ for enthusiastically leading our Fellowship ○○ for the past year based on the year’s theme, “Take Care of Yourself and Serve the World”. I will do my best to carry on this valuable theme this year and do my best to develop the club by practicing it.
Ladies and gentlemen, home is the beginning of life and the place where families grow together. Mothers and children are the center of every family, and by extension, families are the most fundamental unit of a community. Good families build good neighborhoods, good neighborhoods build good communities, and good communities build good nations. That’s why I’ve chosen to revitalize and strengthen family values as the first focus of this year’s Fellowship.
The family is the foundation from which all of our goals come. When families are strong and harmonious, we can talk about safer homes, healthier environments, and improved quality of life for all members, including mothers and children. Health, hope, and harmony naturally flow from a strong and secure home.
While we’ve been focusing on fellowship, we realize that sometimes we’ve neglected to spend time with our families. So this year, we’re planning a variety of events for members and their families to participate in together. We’re not just talking about meals and drinks, but gatherings where we can spend meaningful time with our families.
Our second priority is to continue to build on what we do well. Sustainable growth is not only about personal development and the prosperity of our clubs, but also about contributing to peace in our communities and the world.
Throughout the year, we will make “business prosperity” and “family harmony” the core themes of the club, and continue to carry out meaningful activities based on the theme of “taking care of ourselves and serving the world.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our members happiness and peace in their homes, and propose a toast to celebrate this occasion.
“Let’s be happy, everyone!”
This concludes my inaugural remarks.
Thank you.
Season’s greetings from your club president
Hello, everyone!
Hangeul Day is coming up in a few days. Hangeul Day is not a national holiday, so it’s easy for many people to overlook it, but for us, it’s a day we can’t take lightly. Imagine how frustrating our daily lives would be without Hangeul. Thanks to King Sejong the Great, who created Hangul as a way to write our own language, we are able to use text so easily and comfortably today. Hangeul Day is definitely a day worth celebrating, as all education and communication starts with language and writing.
Honorable Fellows!
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to be here today.
The history of mankind spanning hundreds of thousands of years has been built on the hard work and passion of a single human life, and no other greatness can surpass human passion. We know that the heavy breathing and bead sweat that can be heard on the courts and parks of each club from early morning until late at night is what drives the history of tennis in ○○ City today.
I believe that our love for tennis will not only improve the health and quality of life of individuals, but will also be the foundation of a healthy society and beautiful communities, and will serve as a driving force for national development.
Today, I stand here with you to make a new pledge and present a vision for the future. I will focus my efforts on the following projects during my term as president, as I deeply consider the reason for the existence of the club and the club we are building together.
Dear Fellows!
The world is changing rapidly. Different cultures and environments are shaping the world today than yesterday. In these times, what we must do is to open our minds and take care of our own health. This is why we are creating a happy life through tennis.
Sweating on the court, breathing together, and playing the game is more than just a hobby for us, it’s a way to revitalize our lives. Even if we don’t get to play tennis every day because we’re busy with work and life, we’re so lucky to be able to take time out every weekend to run and laugh on the court with our colleagues, and we know that we have you, our fellow club members, to share that joy with. So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of you once again.
Finally, I would like to thank all of you for congratulating me on my inauguration. I pledge to fulfill my responsibilities and work hard in the days ahead. With this inaugural address, I conclude by promising you a future together.
Thank you.
Alumni President’s Inaugural Message
Good morning, everyone.
Half of 2024 has come and gone, and as we come to the end of June, it seems like a good time to reflect on the half year that has passed and think deeply about how we will spend the rest of the year. Time flies, the seasons flow, and we are already in the middle of summer.
With the sun beating down, it’s time to start thinking about getting away. You’ve probably imagined it yourself. If you were vacationing on a deserted island and could only take five things with you, what would you choose? It’s a question we often jokingly share with friends, but when you think about the answer, you realize what’s really important to you.
Just like the five things we would choose if we were on a deserted island, there are things in our everyday lives that are truly important to us, and that would be the family and friends around us, and the alumni we’ve spent a lifetime with. To me, you are more than just alumni, you are special people with whom I’ve shared precious memories. I hope you’re inspired to give more attention and love to the important people in your life.
Our Alumni Association is approaching 30 years of existence. It is an immense honor and a tremendous responsibility for me to take on the role of Alumni President for the second half of the year on the eve of the half-century milestone. I believe that the driving force behind the growth of our alumni association over the past three decades is the sincere care and active participation of all of you.
As you’ve gone your separate ways since graduation, you’ve gone on to lead truly remarkable lives, whether at home as great husbands and fathers, or in the workforce as accomplished professionals or CEOs. Your individual endeavors and successes have made our alumni association shine and have helped us get to where we are today.
Now we’re approaching 60, and it’s hard to believe that when we first met, we were all innocent high school students with matching uniforms and black hair, and now some of us are grandfathers and others are preparing to marry their children. It’s hard to believe that time has flown by.
But as they say, “life starts at 60”. If this is all preparation, isn’t it time to start enjoying life for real? I hope we can all laugh together, reminisce together, and make the rest of our lives more valuable and happier.
Going forward, I will do my best to make the Alumni Association a community that can bring greater meaning and value to all of us. This is not possible without the support and cooperation of our alumni, so I ask for your continued interest and participation.
Thank you.
President’s Departure Speech
Good afternoon, everyone.
It seems like just yesterday that I shared my New Year’s speech and various announcements here, but I never thought I would be giving my outgoing speech. I am overwhelmed with emotion. Time has really flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was delivering my New Year’s message at the beginning of this year, and now it’s mid-November, and we’re in the early stages of winter again.
Our company has been blessed with the beauty of all four seasons, with fall being the most beautiful, but now that fall is about to follow in the footsteps of winter, it’s time for me to say goodbye to you.
It’s entirely because of you that we’ve grown from a small company with four employees to the point where we’ve moved offices. In the early days of the company, there were many moments of despair when we thought, “We’re going to have to close the doors.” There were countless trials and errors, failures, and days when we felt like an egg against a solid rock. There were countless all-nighters and unpaid work sessions.
But you chose to keep moving forward, and as the saying goes, “Rocks crumble and become sand, but eggs wake up and overcome the rocks.” Your sweat and hard work have made this company what it is today. Because of you, even if I leave today, I can look forward to the future of this company without a shadow of doubt in my mind. The company will continue to grow because you have the courage and will to get up the eighth time after falling down seven times.
Please don’t look back and keep walking forward as you are now. Today will be the last time I will be the company’s past, but you are the company’s present and future. This company has been my life’s work, and it will remain my honor for a long time to come. I ask you to honor the company’s name so that I can be even more proud to have been a part of it for the rest of my life.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
President’s inaugural message
Hello everyone, I’m ○○○, your new president. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for braving the cold weather to be here today.
As you all know, the situation that our company is going through right now is not easy, and I’m sure that the management has appointed me to this position to help us break through this difficulty and make a new breakthrough. Perhaps you are all asking the same question: “How can we overcome this crisis?” This is a challenge that my predecessor tried his best to solve over the years, and I fully understand the difficulty.
But I’m here to challenge you to think beyond the status quo and look for greater possibilities. We need to be innovative and enterprising in a different way than we have been. Of course, this doesn’t mean we need to reject all that we’ve done and achieved, but I believe we can use our past experiences as stepping stones to set us on a new path of growth. However, it’s clear that new and bold changes are needed if we are to regain our place in the market and become an industry leader.
Before we begin, I urgently want you all to believe that “we can do it”. For a long time, we’ve been somewhat stagnant in our competitiveness and position in the marketplace, and during that time, there may have been some doubt in the back of your mind, wondering if we can ever be as good as we once were. But I promise you here, we will get through this. I hope you’ll join me in believing that small changes will eventually lead to big results.
The famous American magician and circus performer Howard Thurston is said to have said to himself backstage before a show, “I’m going to put my best foot forward.” He always gave of himself and his tricks, never losing faith that the audience would applaud him and love him for it. His hard work paid off, and he became one of America’s most beloved circus men.
I believe we can be that way too. It may not be a world where all hard work is rewarded, but the truth remains that there is no reward without hard work. So, let’s have faith. If we put in the hard work and make things happen, it will pay off. We’ll never move forward without believing in ourselves.
Today, I’m not going to talk about specific directions or plans for reorganizing the company, but what matters in this moment is your confidence and togetherness. A company is only as strong as its individual members. When your confidence and passion come together, we can grow into a strong, competitive organization. If you believe in yourself, it’s up to me to make that belief a reality. Together, we will succeed.
So, folks, I’ve greeted you at length in the cold weather, and I hope you’re enjoying the rest of the year, and have a warm holiday season. I look forward to joining you early next year for even greater achievements and new challenges. Thank you.
Sample inaugural CEO seasonal greeting
Good morning, ○○○. It seems like only last month that a cold breeze was nipping at our collar, but now that we’ve flipped another page in the calendar, the wind has softened. Colorful spring flowers are blooming all around us, and people are wearing lighter clothing on the streets. Amidst this seasonal change, April brings us perhaps the most beautiful and vibrant moments of the year, and I hope that the excitement we feel at the peak of spring will bring positive energy to your daily lives as well.
As I stand here with you today, I am truly honored and deeply responsible. I recognize that when a new president takes the helm, many of you are excited about change, but also have some concerns. As someone who understands these feelings better than most, I’m here today to give you an honest look at my vision and direction for the company.
As you may have heard, “Sincerity speaks louder than words. It means that even if you don’t say it, if you are sincere, it will come through to the other person. Sometimes you may wonder how you can convey your heart without saying it, but sincerity is something that comes naturally through your demeanor and constant communication, and it is difficult to fully capture in a few words. As CEO, I want to convey this sincerity to you as well. I want to create an organizational culture where we can truly understand and trust each other, not just a rallying cry to do a good job.
My first goal as CEO will be to communicate authentically with you. Of course, as a new leader, there will be changes, but I sincerely hope that these changes will be positive ones that take us all to the next level, not just cosmetic ones. I will always listen to the voices on the ground and move forward with you so that each of your efforts and achievements can grow with the company.
Our company is getting bigger and bigger over time. This is a positive sign that our company has grown through our performance in the market, but it also means that our decision-making process has become more complicated and time-consuming, even in situations that require quick decisions. The world we live in is changing every day, and the pace of global competition is faster than we can imagine. It’s hard to keep up with the waves of change at the current pace, so it’s imperative to improve the systems within your company.
At the same time, stagnant water is rotten, which is why we must become a first-class clean company that is constantly flowing and evolving. To this end, I will introduce an innovative organizational culture, break away from the traditional way of doing things, and improve our operations with a structure that is more flexible and agile. It’s not just a change in top leadership, but a system in which each of you plays a more important role.
Today, as your new leader, I ask you once again to embrace the spirit of change and creation and join us on our journey to make ○○ the best company it can be. Our company will only be truly competitive if we don’t rest on our laurels and always look forward with a challenging mindset. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all employees who are doing their best in their respective positions. I look forward to the journey of building new growth together with you, and I sincerely ask for your cooperation. Thank you.
Message from the new CEO
Good morning, everyone. It’s a pleasant November morning with a breeze blowing through the open window. On a breezy day like today, it’s tempting to open all the windows and let even the smallest items in the room enjoy the breeze. Even with the chill in the air, the crisp breeze feels like a signal to us to get ready for new beginnings. With the weather being so nice, I’m not even dreading the upcoming winter, but rather excited about it.
I love the month of November. It’s because I feel like there’s something about December that makes it hard to fully savor the end of the year with all the events and holiday gatherings, whereas November feels like a time to slow down and collect your thoughts in preparation for the year ahead. I hope this is the same for all of you here today. Today is extra special because we can start together with a fresh mindset as we head into a new season.
There’s a good reason I’m so excited today, because I’m here to say my first words to you, my precious ○○ family. I’m your new CEO, ○○○. Greetings again, it’s a pleasure to meet you. As I stand before you today, my heart is full of excitement, but my shoulders are weighed down with a heavy responsibility. Today, as the 15th President of ○○, I am deeply honored to be part of the ○○ family, and I feel an infinite sense of responsibility and mission for the development of the company.
We are living in a time of rapid change, with crises and uncertainties that no one could have predicted. The world is facing unprecedented and serious crises, including climate change and energy challenges, and the global economy is becoming increasingly uncertain. With the United States, the world’s seemingly eternal economic powerhouse, in the grip of a financial crisis, and the Eurozone, the world’s largest economy, facing difficulties, our economy, which is highly dependent on overseas markets, is no exception.
In addition, the patent wars between multinational companies in Korea and abroad are reaching a crescendo, and competing for first-mover advantage in the field of intellectual property rights is no longer a choice but a necessity for survival. For our future, the knowledge, technology, and creative ideas we possess are now important assets in their own right, and are becoming the decisive factor that will determine the success or failure of a company.
We are at a critical juncture in our company’s history, where we must address challenges both inside and outside the company. This period may bring challenges and pressure, but it also presents an opportunity for us to take a new leap forward. I believe that the key to this opportunity lies in your hands. The skills and capabilities you have accumulated in your respective fields will be the most important force in helping our company overcome the crisis and achieve greater growth.
I am convinced that the power to overcome the current crisis lies within us. We already have the technical prowess and unparalleled passion to take on the world. The hard work that you have put in over the years has brought us to where we are today, and as a result, our company has become competitive in the global marketplace. I am counting on you. Even if the global economy is facing difficulties, I believe that our company has the ability to take advantage of this crisis and grow further.
Friends, I will always be with you, and my ears and heart are always open. Every thought and opinion you feel and ponder in your daily life will be a valuable foundation for the company’s development. I will listen to all of your ideas for management innovation and creative problem solving. I ask you to do everything in your power with pride and conviction that every step you take is the cornerstone of Korea, a scientific powerhouse, and the future of ○○. I believe that the future we dream and create together is never far away.
In closing, I hope that today’s meeting will be the first step in building trust between you and me. We can do it together, and we must do it together. I hope that today’s resolutions will lead to great progress and leaps forward for ○○ in the future, and I would like to conclude my remarks with a thank you.
Sample CEO inauguration greeting
Good morning, everyone!
Summer has just begun and the heat is already here, making the passage of time seem even faster. Just as the seasons are changing, our company is also at a moment of transition. It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you in my new role as President.
I’ve worked with you in the field for many years, through many levels, to get to this point. This allows me to understand the challenges you face, and the concerns and aspirations you feel. Now, I’m going to use that experience to do everything I can to make our company better.
Today, I’d like to reiterate the importance of communication. Our growth is the result of the collective efforts of individuals. I believe that your ideas and opinions are the foundation of our growth, and I pledge to create an open environment where all employees feel comfortable expressing their opinions, and I will do my best to ensure that your voices are reflected in the direction of the company.
I will also make the principle of “say what you mean” an integral part of the company’s culture. My goal is to create a culture of encouragement and growth within the company, not one of coercion. I ask you to join me in building a better company through a mix of encouragement, criticism, and growth. Let’s build a company where we trust and respect each other and give and receive genuine feedback.
I want our company to be competitive and stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing marketplace, and to do that, I want to provide an environment where everyone can play their full role, and where your passion and hard work will not go to waste.
Finally, I believe that your health and happiness is the health and happiness of the company, so please take care of yourselves in the coming heat, and I look forward to building a bright future for our company together. I sincerely look forward to this journey with you, and I will do my best as CEO.
Thank you.
Sample Seasonal Greetings from the CEO
Hello, everyone. Thank you very much for joining us today. Let me start by introducing myself: I’m Mr. ○○○, the newly appointed CEO of ○○ Company.
Today is a particularly clear and crisp day, and as I made my way to the office early this morning, the warm sunshine and fresh breeze made me feel as if today was a cheerful reminder of new beginnings. The month of November marks the end of fall and the beginning of winter, and it’s a great time to make new changes and resolutions. Like this nice weather, I hope that my arrival today will be a positive, refreshing breeze in your day.
In fact, while I’m excited to be your new CEO, I also feel a heavy responsibility. The change in leadership may cause some discomfort or anxiety, but I promise to do my best to ensure that the change is not just a shake-up, but a choice to move us forward in a better direction.
I believe you are the key to the growth and development of the company, and we need your voice more than anything else to keep us rooted and on track. In fact, it’s what you see on the ground that will shape the future of the company, so if you have something to say about the company or an idea for improvement, I encourage you to reach out to me, no matter how you communicate. As CEO, I will listen with an open mind and actively incorporate what I can.
To this end, I would like to make it easier for you to communicate with me in the future. We will establish a system where you can have a one-on-one conversation with me at any time via internal messenger, and any advice or criticism you can give me based on your experience in the field will be a great asset to me. I want to create a company where we can have honest conversations with each other in a free and relaxed atmosphere and find the direction for growth.
I want our company to be a place where each of you feel free to say what you need to say, and thus feel more like a family. I envision a culture where every member of the company is able to voice their opinions in a way that they love, and where those voices are respected. I will also create a system where your opinions can actually contribute to the company’s goals and vision, so that we can all move forward as one.
As President of the company, I will do everything I can to invest in your future and the development of the company. I believe that the success of the company is tied to your growth, and I promise to walk with you along the way. Once again, I’d like to thank you all for joining us today, and I’m very excited about the future we’re building together.
Thank you.
Sample President’s Season’s Greetings
Good morning, everyone. It is with great gratitude that I take on the role of CEO during this challenging time. Rather than celebrating, I’m thinking about the challenges that lie ahead, and I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility. Starting today, I am committed to working with you to ensure that our company continues to be a warm place to share hopes and dreams.
Our company is facing several important challenges. Some of them include bank debt of KRW 1.5 billion, which exceeds our capital, inventory in excess of KRW 2 billion, and declining productivity due to year-over-year sales decline and employee demotivation. To overcome this situation, we are at a point where we need to pursue realistic strategies and bold changes.
First, we plan to write off some items to resolve the problem of bad inventory, and to raise funds through asset securitization. Specifically, we are considering selling our headquarters building to pay off more than half of our bank debt and relocating our headquarters to a lower-tax area. We are also exploring various avenues to promote sales of current inventory, and will actively seek input from all employees in this process.
Second, we will eliminate two consistently loss-making department store locations, strengthen customer accessibility through discount stores, and invest more heavily in new construction. To do so, we will hire additional personnel and increase capital investment to increase growth potential and establish a long-term profit foundation. In addition, we will significantly increase the proportion of internet sales, targeting the rapidly growing online market, and strengthen channels to communicate directly with consumers. We are also planning a strategy to specialize in differentiated items in our existing offline stores, and are considering a comprehensive rebranding, including a name change.
Third, we will strive to improve employee welfare and working environment. To reward all employees for their dedication to the company’s development, we are planning to gradually realize wages, and we will strive to improve working hours and leave systems to help employees find a work-life balance. Going forward, we will focus on listening to each employee, one by one, and creating a healthier organizational culture.
I believe that in order for the company to change, I must first change myself, and I will make every effort to do so, and I ask each of you to do the same. We will face the limitations of the existing business we have built up over the past 30 years and boldly challenge new industries with new ideas and a challenging spirit. To this end, I ask all employees to take pride in being the company’s public relations agents and work to spread the word about the company’s strengths. We will actively utilize the sales channels of home shopping and e-commerce to solve inventory problems, and strengthen marketing strategies aimed at various customer groups.
In addition, we will reduce all unnecessary expenses and introduce a corporate asset management program to establish a real-time profit and loss management system, which will further systematize the payment system, prevent leakage of business expenses, and increase work efficiency to secure the company’s financial health. I ask all employees to move beyond the words “hard” and “difficult” and use their wisdom to find “solutions”. We ask that you encourage each other in any difficulty and practice camaraderie to grow together.
I look forward to the winds of positive change blowing through our efforts from now on. Let’s fill our company with “hopes and dreams” and create a company where all employees can work with pride. We look forward to seeing hope grow both at home and at work, and we will move forward together with you. Thank you.
Inaugural President’s Season’s Greetings
Good morning, everyone, I am truly honored to be here with you today, and as I stand before you to take office, I feel that I am now truly a part of ○○.
When we meet and talk about our work, one of the topics that often comes up is about you, our employees. So what does a “good employee” look like in the eyes of a manager? While there are many characteristics, most managers appreciate employees who are enthusiastic, proactive, and have a positive attitude.
But regardless of this idealized image, every employee is valuable in the eyes of their manager. Managers have certain expectations of their employees, but at the core, they like and love all of their employees. It’s just a matter of how it’s expressed and individual style differences. No employee is less important to me.
I’ve been thinking about how to love and respect you, and I’m from Gyeongsangbuk-do, so I may not be used to fleshy expressions. But I want to express my gratitude, warmth, respect, and recognition to you.
They say there are five ways to show love. First, the greatest expression of love is gratitude and recognition. The second is time spent together, and the third is service given and received. The fourth is expressing your feelings with gifts, and finally, there’s touch. In the corporate world, these love languages are also important to strengthen organizational bonds and communication.
In the future, I will always be grateful for your hard work and be a leader who conveys warm recognition to you.
As I experienced during my time at ○○, when times are good, work is organized and runs smoothly. But when times are tough, the passion and creativity of our employees, and the emotional connection we have with each other, is what really matters. Believing in this power, I will deepen my trust and bond with you.
Dear employees, I want our ○○ to be a place of mutual respect and trust, full of passion and joy. And I will do my best to create an environment that makes you feel like it’s a “delicious place to work”.
I would like to thank you all again for joining us to celebrate this occasion. I look forward to the future of ○○ that we will create together. Thank you.
Inaugural Message from the CEO
It is a great pleasure to meet with you for the first time on the dawn of a hopeful new year, and I sincerely wish all of you and your families a happy new year.
First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my predecessor and all employees for their passion and dedication to the development of ○○ so far, and I wish the departing president unlimited glory and development in the future. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the government, media, and related organizations that have provided generous support and cooperation for the growth of ○○ so far, and ask for their continued support and encouragement in the future.
Today, I stand before you as the CEO of ○○ Asset Management, a company with a short history and tradition of ○○ years, and I am somewhat overwhelmed by the enormous responsibility for the development of ○○. However, seeing the bright faces and determined will of all the employees present today, I have gained confidence that we can overcome the challenges we face together. I believe that with your wisdom and hard work, we will be able to overcome any challenges and trials.
Dear Employees, Our company has a great responsibility to fulfill its public mission while also being profitable. This requires us to combine high integrity with expertise in our fields, and to always be upright and trustworthy.
It’s true that some recent events have shaken our company’s reputation for a while, and we’ve received some harsh criticism and concerns from many people, but now is the time to take a hard look at all of this and do some self-reflection. We need to think deeply about where we fell short and what changes we can make to regain trust in the future.
Dear employees, a crisis can always be the beginning of a new opportunity. This is a time for us to use this trial as an opportunity to rebound, to challenge ourselves endlessly and to change. I believe that labor-management harmony and unity are of paramount importance for our company to regain its past reputation and forge an even stronger future.
I would like to present to you several management policies that I would like to emphasize for the future of our company. First, we will make transparency and honesty the foundation of everything we do; second, we will create an organizational culture that respects the opinions and suggestions of our employees and listens to each other’s voices; and third, we will harmoniously achieve the twin goals of public mission and profitability through responsible management.
Finally, on the occasion of a hopeful new year, I would like to wish all of our employees that their wishes will be fulfilled, and that good health and good fortune will always be with you and your families. I hope you will add your wisdom and enthusiasm to the bright future we will build together. With gratitude.
Sample Season’s Greetings from the CEO
Greetings. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to join us.
I would like to thank each and every one of you, the past presidents, the presidents of the city and provincial architectural societies across the country, and the distinguished guests. It is precisely because of your trust and support that I am standing here today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all architects for their expectations and support, and I feel the weight of this responsibility with all my heart. I pledge to you that I will strive to do my best to serve the Korean Institute of Architects and to be the best president I can be.
Architects have long been the main players in creating and cultivating architectural culture in this country. The countless buildings and designs created by architects in the post-war era have become cultural assets and a source of pride in this country. This is the age of culture, and creative thinking and emotional approach are being emphasized in various fields. I think it’s time for architects to take the initiative once again and become pioneers in cultural creation. We should be able to shape a future-oriented architectural culture through creative thinking and challenging spirit, and promote its value to society.
The government, the National Assembly, and local governments across the country are calling for new visions and values, calling for ‘creativity’, ‘sensitivity’, ‘architecture’, and ‘urban design’. However, the reality is that the situation facing architects today is far from this social atmosphere, and I am sorry to say that we are going through a difficult period where we are having to think about our very survival due to the unprecedented economic crisis. Today, I would like to present concrete strategies and action plans to overcome this crisis and move forward into the future, and I would like to ask for your active participation and cooperation in this journey.
I would like to establish and implement three major strategies for the continued development and leap forward of the architectural community: ‘Strategy for Survival’, ‘Strategy for Recognition’, and ‘Strategy for Dreaming’. In particular, I would like to establish specific survival measures for architects, so that you can feel the change directly through the measures. To this end, I will establish a special committee for survival measures, which will be run by me, the president, and will mobilize all my capabilities to produce results.
The first is the “Strategy for Survival,” which prioritizes the economic stability and self-reliance of the architectural community. Specifically, we will expand and develop business areas, promote the diversification of architectural firms, revitalize the characterization of local architectural firms, and develop a solidarity system among architects to lay a more solid foundation for architects to communicate with and contribute to the community, and lay the groundwork for architects to become more active.
The second strategy is the “Strategy for Recognition.” This strategy aims to raise the social recognition and status of architects. We will strengthen public awareness of the architectural industry, expand exchanges with the government and the media, and promote the certification of architects. We will also actively encourage social and information exchange activities among members, and foster professional members to build a stronger network within the architectural society. This will help the profession to have greater pride and value in the public perception.
The third and final strategy is the ‘Strategy for the Dream’. Reflecting our vision and goals for the future architectural society, this strategy starts with restoring the authority of national licensure as an architect, developing a national architectural policy, promoting the unification of architectural organizations, improving the architectural education system, and promoting international exchanges and cooperation to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of architects in the global era. This vision will serve as a cornerstone for our ideas and skills to be recognized beyond Korea and on the world stage, and to contribute to the development of the national economy and culture.
All of these challenges are not easy, but I am confident that we, as professionals, will be able to meet them wisely through creative, positive thinking and rational judgment. At the General Assembly the other day, we pledged our unity to be as strong as ultra-high-strength concrete. Just as gravel, sand, cement, and water come together to make strong concrete, so let’s all the gravel and sand architects across the country become the cement and water of the association, and build the architectural society into an ultra-high-strength unity. If we work together, we can overcome any difficulties.
Now, as the president of the Korean Institute of Architects, I will lead architects and the Korean Institute of Architects to a greater leap forward in this era with conviction and passion. I sincerely thank all architects for their faith and support, and promise to repay them with passion and dedication.
I would like to thank you once again and wish that we can work together for a bright future for architects.
Thank you.
Message from the new CEO
As a child, I used to admire and imagine myself as a captain in the novel Treasure Island, which I read as a child. From then on, the captain was a symbol of courage and leadership for me, and the way he moved forward toward his destination without a compass left a strong impression on my young mind. Time has passed, and now I’ve taken on the weighty role of corporate “captain,” and I’m here to tell you that I’m determined to turn those dreams into reality, and that I’m committed to fulfilling my responsibilities and obligations.
The captain of the treasure island was always an imposing boss who fearlessly led his men through rough seas and adversity, and he was also the hero of the fantasy. As I was thinking about how I, as the captain of a company, should be a bossy leader, a quote guided my thoughts as if by fate.
“Bosses create fear, leaders create confidence. Bosses shift blame, leaders right wrongs. Bosses know everything, leaders ask questions. Bosses make things hard, leaders make things interesting.”
This quote made me realize something important. It made me realize that a captain of a company is not just a boss who gives orders, but a leader who embraces and empathizes with people. A leader who is on the front lines with his or her employees, who can listen to their stories and empathize with them, is a captain in the truest sense of the word. Going forward, I want to be the captain of this ship, and I want to be on board with you, and I want to take you on a bumpy but rewarding voyage. The journey ahead of us certainly holds both challenges and opportunities, and I am confident that together we will fulfill those possibilities and hopes.
Today’s IT industry is an ever-changing and mixed bag, but what is clear is that only those who move forward and evolve will survive. The challenges we face are just things to be overcome, but what truly matters is the evolution of our company and our individual calling. I would like to take this opportunity to promise you that I will do my best to join you on the journey of creating a “future-ready company”.
What are our challenges? First of all, it is to look at the world with an open mind and do our best in our respective positions. Our goal is to be specialized in diversity, anticipate the changing needs of the market, and meet customer expectations. To achieve this, we must strive for self-development and talent cultivation, and continue to create new growth engines that keep pace with market changes. Failure is the path to success, but it is more important to reduce the risk of failure and build success factors one by one than to simply experience failure. I want you to take pride in the progress you’re making with the company and realize that we’re all representatives.
I am taking on this position at a critical time, and I will rely on you, trust you, and move forward together. I will strive to make sure that your dreams and hopes are realized here, and that your successes are the driving force behind the company’s development, preparing us for the future. I will not stand on a pedestal, but as a colleague who runs, thinks, cries, and laughs with you.
This determination is reflected in my own philosophy on roles. I believe that positions should be horizontal role structures, not vertical control structures. I believe that you and I are equal partners in the company, fulfilling our respective roles and responsibilities and responding to various demands from both inside and outside the company. Sometimes this may mean taking on more responsibility, but I am confident that this is my natural role.
In the beginning, I took this position because I wanted to make a promise to you, a promise that I sincerely believe in. I reiterate that I will do my best to fulfill my promise, and I ask you to join me in pledging that we will do our best to help each other move the company forward. As we journey forward as one, I promise to sail with you as a leader, not a boss, and as a captain.
Thank you.
